Amazing home in Trappitello

The property was clean and spacious. The view to Mt Etna was magnificent. The patio was large and the swimming pool lovely. However, the neighbourhhood around the villa is drab ( Trapitello). The location is quiet with lots of birdsong. I would highly recommend a car to get to Gardini Naxos ( beach) and Taormina.

The good:The house is spacious, outdoor area great, view to Etna stunning, water pressure is good, kitchen well equipped, house is clean.Not as good:- Kids room with the bunk beds is unusable for anyone above 5 y/o. The mattresses are terrible, can't sleep on them. Had to use the sofa bed on the bottom floor.- Parents en-suite bathroom: Totally unusable. Shower is tiny and moldy, toilet situated 30 cm in front of the shower, so can't sit down on it straight. Sink is tiny with a light fixture in your face and a mirror on the wall to the side so you can't shave or wear makeup there.- Maintenance: Received the house with faulty electricity in the kitchen so dishwasher, stove ignition and power outlets were not working. The next day the owner came with a few guys, made a huge amount of noise for two hours and left a mess for me to clean and a botch job with the outlets (no my house, but it's ugly).Other than that some flaking paint here and there, worn out corners on the tub, some rust .- Some random unusable stuff left in the house: An unplugged freezer, dusty scooter in the garage. a huge creepy aquarium in the living room, an even more creepy attic.- Pool not cleaned for 8 days, so after the first wind, it's full of debris and nasty to use.- Property manager unhelpful. Had to wrestle with her to get receipts for cash paid at the property.- They charge 0.4 euro per kwh of electricity which is about triple the actual rate. Overall, you can find better for the price.
