Fredheim, Northern Light Lodge

Its location (remote and quiet) and being able to enjoy a jacuzzi with a view onto the fjord (many thanks to the agency and the diligent persons who took care of everything for us to enjoy a privileged moment).

Really nit-picking here but a couple of things seem to be missing for the added comfort of the next guests, e.g., a sturdy bath towel rack and a floor mat in the bathroom, oven mitts in the kitchen.

Février 2026 : idéalement situé pour observer les aurores boréales. Isolé (c'est le but) mais les routes étaient parfaitement entretenues et praticables. La maison est vaste avec un séjour ouvert avec vue imprenable sur la mer. 3 vraies chambres et de nombreux rangements. Lave linge et sèche linge, vraie cuisine équipée. Le Jacuzzi et le Sauna sont un plus (attention règlement en plus)

L'accès du chemin à la maison n'était pas dégagé et vu la neige une pelle aurait été judicieuse. Manquait juste un sèche cheveux pour que l'équipement soit parfait. La communication autour de la logistique pour la mise en route du Jacuzzi et Sauna est à perfectionner pour éviter les déconvenues

Probably the best stay we ever had in all our vacations so far. The location is incredibly remote, which of course you have to like. The next major city is half an hour away by car, so not right around the corner. Thanks to its location you have an absolute clear view of the sky and stars and it's insanely quiet. The cabin is cozy and high quality. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all tools one would need for cooking. And the sauna with the wooden oven was an absolute delight. We were there during winter. At our arrival the cabin was already heated up, which we much appreciated.

The house itself is beautifully situated. It’s spacious, modern, and well maintained. As it is managed by an agency, it is spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The price is also good value for money.

You could complain about the extra charges for the sauna and hot tub – they are really quite expensive – but they’re entirely optional, so it’s not a major issue. The real problem is visible in one of the photos, the one showing the kitchen. The owner has chosen to display a large photograph of himself kneeling beside a moose he had shot. If you’re an animal lover, or simply believe that animals shouldn’t be killed for sport, you may find this rather upsetting. It certainly detracted from what was otherwise a wonderful stay in a beautiful house.
