Would definitely book again!

Perfect location for a relaxing holiday. Short walk to shops and restaurants, gorgeous views of steam train, the Welsh hills and of the harbour. Car drive or a coastal walk to beautiful beaches and more stunning views. The cottage had everything you need, kitchen facilities were good, air fryer, coffee machine, dishwasher. Lovely shower and big bath to relax in after a day of walking. Plenty of books and board games to keep you busy on a quiet evening in.

WiFi slow at times, dvd player wasn't working.

Beautiful cottage

We loved Garth Cottage! It is in a perfect location for exploring Porthmadog and Borth-y-Gest. Cosy living room, well kitted out kitchen dining room, comfy beds and beautiful views across the harbour towards Snowdonia. Easy to access the town for food shopping or takeaway, plenty of places close by to eat and great for walking our dog. Fantastic to watch the steam trains come and go at Ffestiniog Railway from the cottage's front terrace. We hope to have a return visit.

The ONLY downside was the leaking outside guttering. We stayed at Garth Cottage during a very wet week of non stop rain. The guttering above the kitchen skylight needs fixing as it overflowed and pounded on to the window. It was very loud!

Fantastic stay.wished we had booked longer

Views amazing, great location. Well equipped kitchen, (Nespresso machine was great!) both rooms had comfortable beds. Lovely to have outside space with particularly great views from there.

Steps down to front door would be challenging but we were careful. WiFi not too good in second bedroom but not an issue for us.

Excellent cottage in Porthmadog

A lovely clean cottage with amazing views over the harbour in Porthmadog with the steam trains coming and going backdropped by Snowdonia. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The front terrace gets the morning sun.

Be aware that there are a number of steps or a longer hill between the cottage and the harbour. Possibly not suitable for those with mobility issues.

If you are thinking of staying in Porthmadog, you should stay here.

Watching sunrise over Snowdonia was worth getting up early for every day. The elevated from garden gives you uninterrupted views over town to the mountains. You can also watch the little trains as they come over the Cob. The Ship pub is just at the bottom of the hill and does really good food (you will need to book a table). Town Centre and the Ffestiniog Railway train station are both just a short walk away. Cottage had everything you could need plus more. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen was very well stocked with utensils. Shower is great. Plenty of hot water. Central heating is very good when the weather is cold.

Although we didn't have any problems, I would imagine that parking would be a bit of a lottery during summer peak season.
