Casiola - Home away from home in the heart of Ghent

Ubicación a mitad de camino entre la estación (20 min) y el centro turístico (15 min). En nuestro caso es lo que buscábamos, para hacer excursiones en tren. Ubicado en una zona con comercio, supermercados y restaurantes. Apartamento nuevecito (quizá demasiado; faltaría algún espejo o algún detalle de decoración) y bien cuidado. Buenos colchones. Vecinos muy silenciosos. Vista agradable hacia atrás. Fue muy fácil contactar con el anfitrión. Las llaves se recogen en un casillero con código.

Nos pilló un periodo caluroso, y el apartamento era algo caluroso y no tiene aire acondicionado (cosa que no resultará necesaria el 99% de las veces). Los dos dormitorios tienen camas dobles; la cama del segundo dormitorio es un poco estrecha para ser doble. La calle del apartamento puede ser algo ruidosa en algunos momentos.

Good location, loved the view and the wall of windows opening out to the river. Kitchen had everything you needed.

The two bedrooms are both on the street side of the apartment, and with it being hot in summer, we had the windows open and the street was very noisy at night. The hosts used a hosting app, which seems to be a trend these days, and it was sometimes a bit confusing with additional rules presented there. We never really worked out what we were supposed to do with our recycling, and were worried that we might have been charged for it. All was well in the end, but policies for the property (eg fee for checking in before 5pm) should be in the property description on booking.com. It is also confusing for a property to separately offer damage and cancellation insurance

The apartment is very well located, close to all the tourist sights and still in a quiet neighbourhood, with many shops and restaurants in the area. The premises were very clean and comfortable, well furnished with good utilities. Staff was very helpful.

Not enough toiletries, such us hand soap or extra toilet paper, we had to supply out own for the stay. Check in/out procedures are a bit complicated. Hard to tell if the price is competitive
