Location is both a blessing and a curse; it's centrality makes it convenient to access all the things one would like to see in Edinburgh. The curse is: it's VERY LOUD at night with buskers and partiers right outside your window.
The front bedroom with the en suite bath as a mini-sink that is pretty challenging to use with the medicine cabinet as close to the tap as it is. No shower soaps or shampoos were provided. It's too bad the entrance to the wonderful property is so close to all the trash and recycling bins; one has to maneuver past them and their odors to get to the front door.

Amazing location in the Grassmarket minutes from the buzz of the main festival venues. Close to lots of cafes, bars, restaurants etc.
Because of the location it was really loud well into the early hours on some nights. We all struggled to sleep - but the area is well known for its nightlife, so we should probably have been more aware of this.

Very comfortable and well-appointed apartment right in the centre of things. Comfy beds, clean space, well-equipped kitchen and living room. We were in Edinburgh to attend a gig at Edinburgh Castle and that was a (uphill -- such is Edinburgh) short walk away. The neighbourhood was excellent, there was a great breakfast place just opposite the apartment called Hula, which we would recommend (they also kindly allowed us to hang out there with our luggage after we had checked out).
It wasn't clear to me from the listing that there was a very narrow winding staircase to access the apartment. Might be fine for most people but I have a physical disability so was glad I was travelling with friends who could help me get in and out with my luggage. Also note that the entrance is down a little alleyway that is full of garbage bins, so if you're very sensitive to smell the entry can be a little taxing.

Location is great, right over Grassmarket
The entrance to the property is a disgrace, used by youths drinking in the area as a makeshift toilet, utterly disgusting.
