Jean Ives and Serge were truly exceptional hosts. Warm, welcoming, and gracious. When they opened the large door to their property, which is on an unassuming street, we were treated to a beautiful, lush retreat, a gorgeous pool and deck area, mature gardens, flowers, lovely outdoor furnishings, and an incredible view of the medieval city of Carcassonne. They know when to engage guests and when privacy is preferred. They made themselves available to offer great advice and tips for local food and sites. They have such good taste and put so much effort into creating an oasis for people to enjoy. The breakfast is excellent. Jean Ives made brioche from scratch on multiple days we were there, fresh-squeezed juice, and eggs cooked to order straight from the girls (they have friendly, free-range chickens who even visit the pool area). We also had one dinner they prepared on their deck with outstanding views, as the sun went down, there were great options, and they made it a very special but low key evening for us, which is just how we like it. There are also two incredibly gorgeous long haired orange cats on site, who snoozed happily and welcomed our adoration and affection. This was going to be a short way station between legs of a trip to Spain. It turned out to be a real highlight, it was so relaxing, comfortable and we felt well cared for and at home. We also feel that we have made friends with Serge and Jean Ives, both remarkable men, with great stories, great taste, and very big hearts.

Zeer mooi verblijf met 2 top gastheren. Je voelt je direct thuis en vrij. Kamers zijn zeer mooi ingericht met veel style en warmte. Zeer goede airco. Alles aanwezig. Heerlijk zwembad en mooi uitzicht. Zeer goed ontbijt en alles is mogelijk. Heerlijke wijn en La Chouffe bier. Centrum en kasteel +/- half uurtje lopen. Parkeren in de straat nabij. We hadden hier makkelijk een week kunnen verblijven. Echt top
