Carcassonne Guesthouse

We can only echo all the great reviews this guesthouse has already received. The room was spacious and super comfy, whilst full of character. The ceiling fan and the aircon were very welcome. The view from the terrace could not be beaten and was a lovely place to eat breakfast or sit in the evening. The location is also really convenient, placed as it is between the historic medieval fortress and the bars, shops, cafes and restaurants of the 'new town' (about 600 years old), all within easy walking distance. On arrival and departure we used the shuttle bus from the airport which dropped us off about 8 mins walk from the guesthouse. The owner, Patrick, is very welcoming and does a lovely breakfast. He's very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and also gave us plenty of great restaurant recommendations. We had such an easy, relaxing stay in Carcassonne, and would definitely recommend this guesthouse.

Great location between new & old town. Great view of the old town from the terrace. Great air con. New bathroom and comfy bed. Patrick is a friendly host.

Everything was great about our stay we ended up staying an extra 3 nights rather than moving on as we originally planned Patrick is a great host and shared many options in the wider area to visit. if you have a car you can drive to so many places within an hour from beaches to villages to markets to city's to castles and hikes. The guesthouse sits is a great location and is a short walk to the main centre or cross over the river to the castle. The building itself has a lovely courtyard in the middle with tables and chairs between two buildings (both the guesthouse) which is great for a morning coffee. There is also a small fridge for any items you need to store The room and bathroom were exactly as shown in the photos but much bigger in person. A great sized shower and big bed provided a very comfortable stay and air con in the room was well received in the 30+ weather. It was lovely and clean and felt very homely with plenty of storage for our belongings. Sadly we never tried the breakfast and cycled to a boulangerie each day but the breakfast smelt wonderful. We travelled with bikes and Patrick made sure we could lock them up safe inside the gate which was amazing There is free parking out front of the guesthouse we could have also left them on the car as some do. There's great view of the castle from Patrick's terrace is a great setting for an evening with a bottle of wine or a few beers to relax and perhaps.a game of Carcassone. Patrick's super easy to chat with and his knowledge on the local area is great. He shared so many points of interest and was very welcoming and looked after us well during our stay. He is easily contactable if needed and very good at responding via booking.com or WhatsApp. We would stay here again
