Fantastic Theatre weekend stay with my best friends

The family room was perfect, plenty of room for 4 of us. The staff were very helpful. We had bottles of mineral water and plenty of tea, coffee & biscuits in the room. Perfectly placed for the Theatre. Would highly recommend 😊

Another comfortable stay

I have returned to Yak & Yeti due to its hospitality, food , location and comfortable rooms; the beds are cosy and comfortable

Due to the nature of the building, on this particular stay, I was made aware of the thin walls between bedrooms, which meant my conversations could be heard. Lack of privacy was highlighted on this stay. Although it’s something to be aware of, still experience staying there and whisper on the phone calls or when talking to each other.

Perfect little place to stay - loved it.

As soon as we walked into this lovely little hotel we knew it was going to be a good experience. The staff were very welcoming. The decor in the restaurant was appealing and the smells coming from the kitchen tempted us to book our evening meal there - we were not disappointed! We stayed in Room 2 at the front of the property. We could hear noise from the restaurant but only early evening. The room was really clean, warm, well equipped and nicely furnished. Breakfast the following morning was top drawer. We would definitely recommend this little gem of a hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Shrewsbury.

Just two criticisms Creaky floorboards - we could hear the couple next door walking around a lot but this is to be expected in an old property so it didn't upset us too much. The shower wasn't great - you could either have a good flow but luke warm or a weak flow but nice and hot! It didn't bother us as we only stayed one night but if we booked for longer we would want a better shower. Not sure if all the rooms have the same issue.

Excellent reasonably priced stay

Very reasonably priced room, which was very clean and cosy. Excellent breakfast. Ate in the restaurant at night, I had a lovely meal with a local gin! Lovely, very helpful staff. Good parking.

Perfect for our party of three.

The property was very clean and the room we were in was perfect as there was 3 of us and it was spacious enough that we weren’t tripping over each other even though it has a double and two singles in it, just a short walk to the centre and even though it was above a very busy restaurant we hardly heard a thing, the beds were very comfortable and had lovely clean linen, tea and coffee was provided and bottles of water. Lovely little stay and would recommend.

Stayed on a room only basis. The property has its own restaurant serving Asian cuisine. We took advantage of their lunch time special menu upon arrival. Lovely tasty food, we both went for two course. Staff most helpful and happy at work. Clear instructions given and we were taken to our room after lunch. In view of the extremely poor weather allowed us to switch our stay from the Friday to Sunday without any trouble. Had limited parking available on site. Well positioned for the town which was only a 10/15 min walk away.

Clean spacious and comfortable room Breakfast was excellent, to much for me to eat, maybe have a small breakfast with one of each (eg sausage hash brown, bacon)

Shower wasn’t very good no pressure also some instructions on how to use as originally we thought it wasn’t working as no light on even though cord pull was on. Slightly cold in room

I love the yak and yeti and have stayed there twice,the staff are amazing!

I returned with my husband for a weekend away and our room was disappointing. The bathroom door didn’t shut and the room was freezing.

A great hotel with amazing staff

The breakfast was delicious, proper sausages and very fresh, washed down with a lovely fresh coffee. A great start to the day. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff are so friendly and always smiling, they can't do enough for you :-)

No vegan breakfast option so had to go elsewhere for breakfast but this was not a problem available breakfasts 8 mins away at wetherspoons.

Great place but way too hot and stuffy

Great location, great family room, kind staff and the restaurant was exceptional. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Staff were kind and helpful.

The room was *way* too hot. Even on days in which it was cool outside the room would unexpectedly heat up late in the afternoon (heat from the kitchen?) and would stay an absolute furnace for the entire night. Bedrooms 1 & 2 open to a small room that was like a sweat lodge it was so hot and stuffy. I would not stay here again until something is done about the ventilation and/or AC is installed.

Perfect stay within 5 minute walk of the town

The location for Shrewsbury town was perfect. The pillows and divers were really soft. The food was fantastic and staff were all really attentive. It was nice to be able to come and go throughout the evening and still make use of the toilets down stairs. The quadruple room was a really good size.

The room was very warm and the floor fan provided unfortunately did not cool the room down.

Great location, lovely hotel / restaurant definitely recommend!!

Very friendly staff, the bedrooms are lovely and clean. Free parking on site. Great location. Great size breakfast. We never ate in the Restaurant but we had a look at the menu and could smell the food I can only imagine how delicious it is! I would recommend this hotel to anybody. I would also like to add I liked how accommodating the staff were on arrival. Very lovely.

It’s not that we didn’t like it at all, it was perfectly okay, however the bathroom is dated compared to the bedroom / other parts of the hotel. If you upgraded the shower so it’s more powerful and warm then this would be a 10/10!
