One of the worst experiences of my life as the host stated there was no room available, after taking full payment and offered a shabby alternative in the middle of a field as an alternative. Be wary of this place

Very nice stay! Would recommend for a calming retreat

The detached guesthouse is perfect for having extra privacy. We appreciated the extra space where the pool table is. The mini fridge, washing machine, and teakettle were nice additions. The host was also very responsive and helpful!

The bathroom was a bit strange with the shower curtain around the toilet, but it was clean.

Not good value to stay in a bramble covered garage and be sent horrible messages when we complained

Despite all of the problems we tried to make the most of it as we only had one evening in Hertford. Even though you have to pay an extra charge, it is good that the property accepts dogs. It is nice to have access to a pool table (as long as you aren't snobby about it being a little old and wonky which we weren't as it gave an excuse for why our shots weren't going in!) Also nice that coffee bags and ground coffee provided. Aside from the smell and the bad condition outside, inside the property was clean enough for our purposes.

Morag needs to make improvements before this can be a pleasant stay for people, including being transparent about the property and improving how she receives complaints without just attacking her customers. I am highlighting as I want others to avoid the bad experience we had. We arrived to find this is not a house as advertised - it is garage at the end of Morag's garden which I was disappointed with given the amount she charges (see refused plans). You enter via a gate that is propping up the fence so it won't close, and the garden has become so overgrown with brambles they are starting to cover the property. She had removed the fire alarm which is a legal requirement for all holiday properties and made me worried about staying because the brambles were also blocking any fire exits out of the windows. The outside area had clearly not been cleaned all winter because it still had piles of leaves from autumn and the brambles were littered with beer cans. There was an overpowering odour as if a lot of air freshener had been used to cover up a bad smell and the fan was not working in the bathroom (again a legal requirement). Customer service: We had a bad experience from the off as Morag tried to charge us extra for reasonable adjustments for disability and we had a stressful argument where I had to repeatedly explain that would be illegal. Despite the booking.com page also saying that she accepted credit card (see screen shot) she text me a few days before hand saying that she would only accept a bank transfer (presumably because that makes refunds harder). She didn't message us how to access the property until 3 hours after the stated check in time on booking.com so we drove to Hertford unsure whether we would even be able to stay at the property.

Comfy bed, pool table is a bonus!

We chose this place because it was convenient for visiting Knebworth and Hatfield house. Location was great, we walked into Hertford one evening. The bed was soooo comfy and it is so quiet we slept really well. It was great having a whole place and the pool table was the icing on the cake. Morag was so helpful and caring, she really cares that you have an enjoyable stay.

This property was so cosy and comfortable and the owner seemed very kind and helpful.

The property was cosy and felt very homely. The utilities were great and the place Is spacious and private. Way better than your average hotel or B&B. I had a very comfortable stay.

There isn’t really anything I didn’t like about the property, it was lovely. If I had to nitpick then I’d probably say the bed is a quite a bit firmer to what I’m used to.
