Woodpecker Lodge is an awesome self catered lodge for big groups or 2-3 of families doing a snow trip. There are two lounge rooms that have been newly renovated & are really comfortable. The dining room is huge & industrial kitchen is really well equipped.
The onsen baths were out of order (may be hard to run when self catered) but still plenty of other bathrooms to use throughout the house including small baths for children.
