Breath-taking garden off the lobby. Fantastic dinner, but they leave you to cook it yourself with almost no instruction. Super clean room. Bath worked very well, with plenty of hot water.
They need more English signage and instruction. The 2 remote controls for the heat & air were in Japanese and we couldn't control them. Finally tried to turn both units off, but one unit came back on anyway. Raised the temperature on the remote, but the unit still was blowing very cold air. Did not see any english instructions.
One more note: the Japanese style rooms make your sleeping bed on futons that are laid on the tatami mats. Even putting 2 extra bottom futons under me, it still made for a VERY firm bed. I knew and anticipated all that. Just know that you need to be used to very firm (hard) sleeping conditions.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

The hotel is not far from the JR Yuzawa station. So, it is convenient for those who take the JR train. But it requires to ascend up a slope of 200 meters.
The hotel tries to create an extraordinary bathing experience within the room, but it is not conducive when the weather turns chilly. To take a deep at an outdoor Bath tub can be challenging.
