Snow fox chalet

Accommodation’s were perfect. Close walking distance to several good restaurants and night life and central to several great ski resorts.

I liked it all. Even watched a fox play in the field behind the house.

The property owner was very welcoming and gave a detailed tour of the chalet and facilities. The chalet was clean and they helped clear the rubbish daily and also helped deep clean certain areas during our stay when needed. It was nice to have a dry room to lay out the ski/snow boards and gear (but some times the heat wasn’t high enough to dry everything by the morning).

The chalet can accommodate 2 extra futons (for 2 extra persons) in the attic but the attic ceiling is quite low so can easily bump your head.

The house is lovely, very modern, warm and comfortable. Not massive but bigger than we expected and plenty for our party of 5. Very nice views and an easy walk to the restaurants, bars and shops of Echoland.

Our only complaint is that all the modern appliances, heaters, oven etc have very complicated and entirely Japanese control panels, which is understandable but quite hard if not impossible for non Japanese to navigate. For some reason our heating turned off. Eric came over to reset it but it did the same thing the following day. The only other negative I would say and it’s not a knock on this property in particular but house accommodation prices in Hakuba now are just mental, twice what you would pay in Jindy and that’s saying something. Frankly the hotels are a better deal now even for families and some are very nice.
