2 Bed Apartment Overlooking the Square Step Out to Shops & Dining

The location is in the centre of town. the furnishings we excellent and the apartment seemed like new.

The property was in an excellent location in the heart of Shrewsbury town. It was spacious and comfortable with lots of light. It has an easy to use good shower too although it’s over the bath.

We didn’t like the rounded glass coffee table which felt as though glasses could easily slide off the sides. There was no milk or shower gel. We had a lot of difficulty on our first morning locking the front door and would suggest a small explanatory notice by the front door or in the instructions would be helpful.

The apartment is very well decorated, spacious and light. The bed we slept in was super comfy and the shower works well. There is a heated towel rail in the bathroom to dry your towels, though with the hot weather we didn't need to use it. We were pleased to find a large fridge and a freezer as we do prepare a lot of our own food and need to freeze down cool packs for the cool bag when we make up a picnic for a day out. Some places only provide a fridge so the freezer was a bonus. Cara provided us with ample information for places to eat and visit round about which is useful for anyone who doesn't know Shrewsbury. I liked the fact that there was hand soap, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cling film, foil, kitchen roll and toilet rolls there to use - so no need to bring your own. There is also tea, coffee and sugar in the cupboard and some satchets of milk in the fridge to start you off. Don't be put off by the lack of parking - there is a designated loading bay opposite for dropping of your luggage. The car parks by the station and prison museum are for overnight and long stay at a reasonable price. They are not too far away and had plenty of spaces. There is a short cut passage way from just below the castle that takes you over the railway footbridge and straight there. Cara and her husband are so helpful and made sure we had a good stay.

There was nothing we didn't like and would love to stay there again in the future. However, just so other people are aware the stairs might be a problem for some with a lot of heavy luggage and being in the centre of town it can be quite noisy at times but quietens down at night, so no problem sleeping. The central location and beautiful apartment far outweigh these disadvantages. We had not appreciated on booking that there is no dining table, not a big problem as the breakfast bar is fine for 2 people. If I were to make any suggestions for improvement it would be to provide a hand towel and two pillows for each person (we pinched one off the spare bed) and an information book that contains the manuals for the appliances and TV and any useful information in paper form to refer to easily. We couldn't work out the microwave but after a phone call to Cara her husband appeared at the door within minutes with another one and swapped it over. We couldn't find our way around the TV either and as others have said it does buffer a lot. We watched TV through my laptop connected to my mobile hotspot which worked fine. However, nothing spoilt the holiday for us.
