Wonderful Stay

Lovely clean dog friendly accommodation surrounded by beautiful countryside and fabulous walks. Pub across the road serves fantastic food and the Old Horns in High Bradfield does the most amazing carvery on a Sunday. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return.

Comfortable stay in a great location

Location is perfect, right in the centre of the village. All the amenities are a walk away. Lovely living area upstairs which is easily big enough for four adults, if needed.

Only thing I noticed is the large non-stick frying pan could do with replacing due to the coating peeling off, which you do not want getting in your food, for obvious reasons.

Warm and convenient base in a pretty village with easy accessible walks.

Warm and inviting little cottage, thoughtfully renovated and well maintained. Good level of equipment. The pub opposite is very good.

The parking is directly outside the property on the road to Sheffield. We always found a space but the popularity of the pub opposite means that was sometimes up the road. Dog owners should note the lack of enclosed yard/garden apart from what you see in the main photo. Information about nearest EV charging facilities would be useful.

Charming place to stay.

Lovely location. Generally the house was comfortable and warm.

One or two items were poorer quality. The bed linen in the bunk bedroom. The mattress on the larger bed in that room slopes. A broken shelf in the fridge.

If you’re a group with no children the bunk bed double bed isn’t ideal as it’s low and tricky to get in and out, but really does not detract from the experience/apartment overall.

Attractive village in beautiful Peak District location. Imaginatively renovated cottage optimising space and light. Warm, clean, well equipped, comfortable. Excellent bathroom, useful utility area. Splendid views of surrounding hills and church. Canine friend welcomed!

Perhaps a warmer duvet option on the king bed? British autumn can be chilly! Location opposite pub and at a well used corner not always peaceful, but we were aware of this before booking, and it was not a problem. Perfectly quiet inside cottage.

Fantastic cottage in Lower Bradfield ideal for exploring the Peak District. The cottage has been perfectly renovated and modernised with all the facilities our family needed. Opposite a good pub which is always a bonus.

Lovely cottage

A really lovely cottage situated in a pretty village with walks from the front door. Very modern but still cosy and thoughtfully decorated and furnished. It had everything we needed and was a perfect base for exploring the peak District. Great pub opposite plus another up the road with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. For those with children/teens there's plenty of entertainment. Would thoroughly recommend.

A minor thing, but a couple of hooks in the bathroom to hang towels would have been great.

Nice shower room but no place to put your bottles. I had to put them on the floor. It will be better to have a drainer for forks and knifes. And a tea table next to sofa.

The bin storage prevents the gate from opening fully & is a problem when you’re trying to unpack bags / cases from car. My wife got a nasty bruise from gate when I wouldn’t open fully & spring back against her leg.

Lovely cottage in a great location

The cottage is very well situated with a pub opposite, cafe nearby and lovely walks on the doorstep. It was very clean with lots of lovely touches and very easy with our 2 dogs. If we visited again we would probably take a stair gate with us to stop them going upstairs when dirty. Fabulous bathroom and underfloor heating is a bonus.

It was really comfortable on the whole but we thought another armchair would be nice to make tv watching easier. The lower bunk bed mattress is a little firm.

Perfect home in a perfect location.

Plough cottage is a lovely clean, spacious home in a beautiful location. I stayed here alone whilst visiting my daughter and was pleasantly surprised at the interior layout. The bathroom is beautiful, the bedroom extremely peaceful and the bad very comfortable, the lounge/kitchen area well planned and equipped. Laura, Dan and Chloe have made a great job of creating a lovely home. The home is good for singles, couples and families. Sparklingly clean. I would highly recommend the home.

All good, I will be back.
