Lovely stay celebrating my birthday in style in this lovely house. Will use it again next time

The house was very well equipped for our needs and we had a lovely weekend staying there.

Only thing is we would have liked a second comfy sofa (we were a group of 6 adults).

Badly equipped & unresponsive owner

The property is advertised to sleep 7, well it may have bed space for 7 but that’s it. There isn’t space in the kitchen to seat 7, there isn’t enough cutlery for 7, only 3 knives and no wine glasses at all. Also the property wasn’t cleaned properly, dust on light fittings, hairs in bath plug hole, food debris around kitchen sink and rubbish in bedroom drawers. We message the owner to explain all these issues, but it took 36 hours for the owner to respond, and then with feeble excuses. They offered to bring more equipment, but by this point it was too late as we had already purchase the cutlery and glassware we needed and we were leaving the following morning.

The nights we stayed the neighbours were up late & slightly rowdy but not a reflection off the property or the host.

Cheap and cheerful

Firstly, the place is very cheap and they provide lots of essentials like shower gels, plenty of bin bags and cleaning items there is a fully stocked kitchen. There is a TV but screen mirror won’t work as it’s very old. There is fast broadband at the property also. There is three parking, but it’s up the hill so make sure you put your hand . On the middle floor there are two bedrooms, one bunk bedroom and another double size bed and toilet and under the loft there is a sofa bed and another double bed .

However, with the negatives, the sofa bed is extremely uncomfortable - beds are fine though

Dusty, unclean, sticky floors, mouldy shower. No teaspoons. Stairs are very steep (with grippers poking through carpet) Unstable floor boards (many needing replacing) Shower/bathroom not been cleaned properly. Mirrors falling off walls. Back garden fences down. Not secure when travelling with a dog. Parking was tricky

Awful and understatement! We were dehumanised, treated less than.

The property owner acted in a manner that was rude, disrespectful, and borderline aggressive towards our family. He raised his voice and shouted in the presence of our children, creating a distressing and hostile environment. During the confrontation, he used racially offensive language, which was deeply hurtful and unacceptable. This was all because did not close the windows we found open already despite it being a very hot. Despite our efforts to communicate respectfully and clarify the situation, the property owner entered our personal space in an intimidating manner. Only after we provided clear evidence did he begin to de-escalate; however, he did not offer an apology or acknowledge the inappropriateness of his behaviour. We are deeply concerned by the discriminatory nature of this incident and the impact it has had on our family, particularly the children who witnessed it. We respectfully request that this matter be investigated thoroughly, and appropriate action taken to ensure the safety, dignity, and equal treatment of all residents or guests in this property.

House was amazingly clean and comfortable. All essentials toiletries had been given. All bed was so comfortable.

Lovely stay - 2 families

Location was perfect for the Football. Short walk to shopping and the Supertram. We were 7 people and whilst the house is not big we didn't feel like we were on top of each other all the time. House was clean and in good condition.

Not a complaint, but the kitchen table and chairs only had room for 5 people. An extendable table and a couple of extra chairs would be an improvement. Wednesday lost, but we can't blame the property for that 😊

We were visiting Sheffield Uni, 81 Wood Road provided the base we needed.

House was nice and warm when we arrived - we arrived late so this was very welcomed. Clean and had everything we needed.

A little tricky to find 81 as it's not that obvious from the road - in the dark! Also we'd chosen this property as it allowed dogs. Currently the fence is down in the garden and it's not really 'dog secure'. I think this needs addressing as dogs can go into neighbouring gardens. Ours didn't because we kept her on a lead but it wouldn't be very nice for the neighbours to end up with dog mess etc in their gardens if dogs were allowed out without being supervised. That said, we had a good stay, thank you.

Location was great for proximity to friends and family plus the tram stop and local pub

Nothing. We knew the area and what to expect. We knew parking might be a challenge but it was better than we expected and could usually get a parking spot without too much trouble.

To go from good to great this place could aim to get the little things right. Maybe some cooking staples are available like salt, herbs etc. A little house manual would help understand where things are and how they work. Nothing major but just the little touches.

A nicely decorated home to stay in.

The house itself is beautifully decorated and spotless. Beds were comfy. The host contacted on the day, as promised to give us the code for the key box. We were using the property just for sleeping mainly, so we didn't use the cooker etc but I could see it was well laid out for being able to make food.

I would not recommend this property for people who struggle to get up and down stairs. The stairs are really steep and if you're walking back to the property, its right at the top of the hill. Walls are thin, we could hear the neighbour shouting at his kids.

Very clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated. v professional hosts, v friendly and flexible with our check out time which was really helpful.

Busy parking, v steep stairs for young children and rear garden is not private as neighbours all use it as a cut through to access their properties. This means it isn’t secure. Also, the picture of the ‘garden’ is slightly misleading as it was purely mud with no grass. so this whole area is basically unusable.

Superb

The house was clean and perfect for a family stay. The kitchen was fully equipped and the beds were comfy. The children loved the house and the freedom it gave them rather than a hotel stay.

The parking wasn't great had to park a distance from the house and carry our luggage along with our small children. Also one toilet between 6 people wasn't great. The house had 2 sets of steep stairs which wasn't ideal for our older family members.

Short break to get keys to new house

Beautifully decorated and well equipped.quiet location.ability to control heating.beds comfortable and great shower.very comfortable and welcoming.very central for shops,trams,takeaways etc loved everything apart from lack of parking.

There was NO off street parking which was annoying as this was the main reason we booked.this house .there is an enclosed front garden.The house next door had a small slope out front which we had to walk across to get to our property.there were always cars in this spot or across the entryway.no signs or info showing where parking should be. Not enough comfortable seating in the lounge for more than 2 or 3 people.
