Stilias Apartment 6P City Center

Lovely, clean and spacious apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and oddly enough three separate tables to eat at! Good sized kitchen. Large decked terrace off the main bedroom. The street is quiet and just a few minutes walk into town, shops and Grand Place. Ten min walk to central train station so easy to get out and about. The apartment is on the 2nd floor and has steep, open tread stairs so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or small kids.

It lacks a few basic essentials such as an iron (although I did get one when I asked the host), no complimentary tea, coffee etc. Only one hair dryer. No details about where to empty rubbish, quite important when staying for a week. No air con and only small fans that are useless. The bathrooms look great but the showers in both rooms are open (like a wet room) and don't drain well so had water all over the floor at one point. One final point and quite important is you're planning staying soon (aug-sept 26) the apartment is directly opposite a large building that is being completely renovated so lots of loud noises during the week day, if you keep the windows closed it's not too bad.

Plenty of space, location couldn't be better.

We visited during a heatwave, so the upper rooms were unbearably hot. Totally beyond the control of the owner, obviously, so this doesn't change the scores we've given.

The location was great, and the property was spacious. So it should have been our perfect stop.

There were lots of light bulbs not working, including in the upstairs toilet which has no window so is pitch black. There were no smaller lamps to use instead. The dishwasher also did not work (I notice it has been removed from the listing since we booked). The property is up 2 flights of stairs which is fine, but the stairs inside the flat are very very steep, wooden with narrow treads and I could not carry the case up. This should have been included in the write up. I see that all of these things have been advised to the host in the last few weeks since we booked. We messaged the host the day before on WhatsApp as they requested but did not get a reply to that or any of our messages on booking.com. The messages were all unread.
