Lots of good things about this stay. Good free wifi (did conference calls in the morning), great breakfast, friendly staff, comfy beds, central location, free parking. Looked like a decent bar also. 30 minutes walk to the football (reason for coming).

Disastrous. I wouldn’t recommend a stay at this hotel.

I liked the location of the property.

Bed linen was stained when we arrived in our room and we asked for it to be changed. No housekeeping staff were working and so we were given another room. The new room smelled musty and the tv didn’t work. The bathroom had no heating and was very cold. Despite running it for a while the hot water got no hotter than the temperature of an indoor swimming pool. In an already freezing bathroom this made the morning shower something of a trial, but at least I could look forward to a hearty breakfast. No. The chef didn’t turn up for work so there was just toast and tea/coffee available instead of the full English I was looking forward to. Throughout this miserable experience the staff were as accommodating as they could be and did their best under trying circumstances.

Pleasant stay overall. Helpful & friendly staff. This is my hotel of choice on visits to Hull.

Central location for the city .Places of interest & public transport within walking distance. Modernised rooms in an old property. Comfortable, warm room in cold weather.

A few technology issues re the heating operation & getting connected to WiFi . Signing in to tv operation was not very easy. Staff promptly helped to get everything up & running.

Cold and unpleasant

Free car park available, able to leave the car first thing in the morning to check-in later.

Heating was linked to electricity and could work only when in the room. So the room was very cold at my arrival and cold every evening once back at the hotel. No heating in the bathroom, which was the smallest I have ever seen. My room was not done.

One staff member wasn’t understanding as our big room made for 4 wasn’t available so we had 2 double rooms next to each other instead which I didn’t mind and I also never seen my emails of them telling me In advance which is on me, the first staff member let us have both doors available to be opened by 1 room key so we could get in each others rooms as we shared things, but when we came back the next night another staff member said he’d cancelled them from doing that because of what if there’s a fire? Very confusing and irritating as it was a burden to get out own things in the morning and mid way thru the day. Other than this we had a good time here it was nice

Weekend away with the girls (all in our late fifties) and TheCarmichael is the perfect choice

Fantastic location with free parking on site. Staff are really friendly and helpful. There is a lift for customer use. Hotel has a great bar. Rooms are really clean and comfortable.

A disappointing stay at a 4* hotel I have received better from a 3*.

The hotel was central, clean and the family room was spacious.

Our room was facing a road which was very noisy, the people staying above us started singing at 1.15am and woke my sister and I and our two children, we rang reception and the singing stopped only to have them banging around and hearing them vomiting throughout the night. I complained to reception we were not offered another room or even a complementary drink. Everything we asked for during our stay seemed too much trouble and we didn’t feel very welcome at the 4* hotel and I had rebooked to stay again in November but have since cancelled and booked elsewhere.

Perfect location to walk in to town and night life etc. Staff very friendly. No noise at all.

The rooms were plain and looked like a budget room. Ours had frosted glass so couldn't see out the window. That said, they were spotlessly clean and adequate. Disposable cups for water was disappointing.

Would recommend if staying in Hull

Central Location, stayed as we were going to the Coldplay Concert, Hotel emailed a few days before to offer the services of a shuttle bus to and from the Concert, which was amazing as walking would have taken an hour and a half. They made sure everyone was well looked after with food and drinks after the concert too. Would definitely recommend if staying in Hull

Price was a little more than what we would normally pay for one night, but given the concert was on, you'd expect prices to be slightly higher (but not at all extortionate), room was basic for a King
