Delightful nostalgic trip to meet old friends!

Superb location and friendly staff. The Marina view from our room was delightful. The breakfasts were a delight - a real and varied feast.

Too hot! But once we had worked out the heating/ac instructions we were more comfortable. We were really pleased to have a window that opened for fresh air.

Very pleasantly surprised at just how good this stay was for us.

The room was really nice, and the complimentary mini-fridge was such a lovely surprise. The breakfast food was very good, everything perfect, loads of choice - we'd like to know what coffee beans you use so we can buy some for home, very good coffee. The staff are so friendly and helpful, we felt well looked after.

Not so much a 'not like' as such but I think the bar and restaurant could do with some colour on the walls, it's all white and a bit clinical.

Nice hotel, lovely staff, great shower!

Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Special mention to Goorgio and his female co-worker who were there on loan from the Crowne Plaza in Leeds. Really friendly and helpful young people. Good location next to the Marina and only five to seven mins walk into the town centre. Clean room and dhower, though dated in design, was superb - fantastic water pressure! Best shower ever.

Bed was rather hard for my liking. Bathroom very dated in design. Loo rol kept falling off the holder as it was wonky. Husband said toilet seat wouldn't stay up.

Staff were not very friendly. Carpets around the building were well used and some were threadbare. Bed was poor quality and well used. Bathroom was not the best and very old fixtures. Heating was noisy so they had put an oil filled radiator in the room.

Charming, even though large, hotel

The ducks look through the door in the restaurant. It was so delightful. The fact that you allow dogs.. the dog, Ollie, in our party had the most wonderful time, and the staff loved him. Impeccably clean and breakfast was lovely. Thank you 😊

Room was spacious clean and comfortable, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby area was well laid out and impressive, and the breakfast was excellent. The directions provided to help us navigate the ongoing roadworks were clear and helpful.

The room decor, carpet and bathroom looked a little tired. They could do with a refresh, but were clean. Just prior to our visit I was informed that there was a car parking charge of £10 per night, but I wasn't asked for it during our stay. Was this a mistake (the information, or not being charged) ? Maybe provide a lighter duvet option as the heavy one we had was almost too warm to be under !

Nice location would be good in the summer to have a nice stroll across the marina to the centre for the shops and pubs

Access to the holiday due to ongoing road works. Didn’t include breakfast thought it did, So I thought £89 for the night plus £10 parking was expensive.

The staff were excellent from the front desk onwards thwy could not do enough for you and the location was good especially when all works hage been completed

The beds were uncomfortable felt extremely lumpy and the rooms felt too warm spent most of the night pushing duvet on and off

Excellent Stay - Holiday Inn Very Reliable

Picked Holiday Inn because we have been to other Holiday Inns several times and this one does not disappoint. Holiday Inn continue to maintain a very high standard. Staff were very lovely, inviting and accomodating for our requests and questions. Decided to eat at the restaurant and food was delicious, staff very helpful and polite. Bedroom was very spacious with desk for study, and the bed itself was comfortable, large, and they had spare pillows. They always provide the key amenities for the bathroom but I like that you can ask for other things if need be. The curtains are blackout which is very nice for having a lie-in. Breakfast was extremely plentiful, and you can also request some additional food items not on the menu on request which they were quick to serve. The heater was not working, but they were quick to remedy it and provide an alternative radiator which worked very well. It's also in a very ideal location; you get the parking for 24 hours (you must pay £10 per night unfortunately), but although we checked out, we kept the car parked and walked past the marina, the main town, stopped by the aquarium and got to enjoy the city. Would definitely come back.

Complimentary water would have been nice to help make cup of tea or coffee. Please be mindful currently there are heavy roadworks, which made finding the hotel actually quite difficult; follow their instructions.
