2 bedroom home within walking distance of the town - Pass the Keys

The location was perfect for exploring the town. 8 minute walk to the Abbey (which has a pub and several restaurants next to it) and then only a further few minutes over the bridge onto Wyle Cop. Free, plentiful on-street parking. Really peaceful, lovely neighbourhood with a handy nearby corner shop. Slept really well and the beds were comfortable. Communication with owner was really clear and helpful. Property was clean and tidy and the living room/kitchen being in the basement was a relief in this hot weather. WiFi connection was excellent. TV has most of the standard streaming apps which you have to log into. No freeview.

The bathroom and living room being downstairs took a bit of getting used to. As did the lack of walk in shower. The bedrooms being upstairs were pretty hot and stuffy, but the recent warm weather was really to blame for that and at least you could cool off by going downstairs. The back bedroom is overlooked by the next door’s kitchen but I just kept the curtains drawn. The lamp in the smaller bedroom didn’t work. These are minor problems really though and didn’t spoil anything. Would still definitely try and stay here again if in the area.

Deserves a higher rating, an excellent place to stay. I stayed here for a month as a stopgap between moving abroad, and it provided pleasant solace during what can be a stressful time. Totally unbothered during my stay, only by the occasional rustle of a leaf during the night - it’s the quietest place I’ve ever stayed in a town. No issues, shops everywhere. The other reviews are a bit ridiculous. WiFi was fine, I worked from the dining room table. Washing machine, iron, drying rack, kitchen fully equipped, TV fine, bed and bedding comfortable, tasteful curtain & window frame choice, comfortable sofa, cosy living area. Only consideration is the bath / shower. I’m accustomed to a walk-in shower, so it was just different to use the handheld shower or take a bath. But you get used to it. The local area is also quite interesting, socially and architecturally. It has a charm of a certain kind.

Convenient location for the Abbey (historically where travellers would go), close to town centre. Nice that the train station was walkable to.

Upon first glances all is fine. However the bathroom is a disaster, impossible to have a shower without getting the floor soaked, no mirror above sink. The main issue was the toilet, it has a macerator - it failed, water all over the floor, gasses escaping - it 'tripped' the fuse box. 'Pass the Keys' were excellent in there handling of this, a plumber arrived quite quickly, no fault on them.
