Bootes Cottage

Close to all amenities, lovely and spacious for a cottage, very nicely laid out and decorated. Owner was very helpful with queries and making sure I had been able to park ok. Really comfortable bed and bathroom was excellent too.

A little noisy at times with the front door being in a passageway and close to a bar next door. Oven was very small, which wouldn't suit those who might want to stay longer and eat in. Only small things and they didn't really take away from us enjoying the place.

Perfect location in the centre. The room was beautiful and clean, equiped with everything youd need from a coffee machine, towels to Ironing board and even towels for make up.  The key was easy to recieve so check in was easy and free parking was a bonus being in the city.

Minor issues like the bin lid and a broken blind, the only big issuse would be the bed is too small for the bed frame meaning its a hazard and easy to hurt yourself walking past or getting in and out of bed.  Which is a shame as the actual matteress is comfortable although a small double.  This is the only thing thats put the place down other wise its a lovely place to stay and i would recommend.

Location was fantastic - within easy reach of everything. Facilities good overall, had all the basics needed for a short stay. Parking was simple.

There are a few housekeeping issues; cobwebs on the walls downstairs, limescale build up around the bathroom sink tap, one toilet roll looked like it had gotten wet and dried out. Plates and cutlery still looked greasy but I guess this is because they rely on guests to wash up and perhaps don’t check the crockery? Bigger bed would be nice, the bedroom could accommodate it. We did have someone come and kick the door one evening - probably kids mucking around down the alley. Was also a load of rubbish left piled in the passage which wasn’t pleasant to walk past every day.

Nice and clean and close to the centre of York.

Despite several interactions with the team about the refund of parking fees, they have not done so. The stay was in summer and the bedroom was very hot and the supplied fan really did nothing to cool the air.
