About this apartment rental
Step into a unique city centre escape at New York Loft, a charming two storey apartment located just across the road from the historic Shambles. Tucked down Lady Peckett’s Yard, this stylish property sits within a beautifully converted former tobacco mill, giving it a rich sense of history and character. The building retains much of its original mill charm, from the exposed brickwork and structural beams to subtle nods to its past - including the distinctive tobacco insignia.
Inside, you’ll find a king size bedroom and a double sofa bed, making it ideal for couples seeking a romantic retreat or a small group looking for a central base. Exposed brick walls and timber beams run throughout the apartment, enhancing its distinctive loft style feel and celebrating the heritage of the building. With eclectic décor that transports you to another part of the world, every corner of New York Loft feels like a mini getaway in itself.
The apartment is easily accessed either from the famous Shambles through the Tudor buildings of Lady Peckett’s Yard passage or from the bustling streets nearby. Step outside and you’re surrounded by vibrant restaurants, cafés and shops along Fossgate, Pavement and Piccadilly all just moments from your door.
Whether you’re exploring the historic streets of York or enjoying a cosy night in, New York Loft offers a truly unforgettable city centre stay.

The apartment was very cute and lots of fun extras, like the keyboard (our son is raking piano lessons, so he was excited to practice). Perfectly located for restaurants and shopping marts.
Only drawback was, you better be an early riser and late nighter because the alley is quite loud.
Would still stay again, despite the noise.

The apartment was brilliant, fantastic location and very quirky. Bed was comfy and very good amenities.
The only thing I would say is it could do with a deep clean, under sofa bed was dirty and cobwebs behind furniture etc. The main parts were clean but just needs a deep clean every now and again.
We also had an issue with the chest for the quilt being padlocked so someone had to come and open that for us.
But would stay again!

An entertaining and quirky property in a great location in the center of York. We loved the decor and the signs on the wall--a juke box, a couch which is the front end of an old car, and many more. My favorite sign was over the short hallway from the bedroom to the bathroom. showing the name of the hallway to be: "Streakers Passage." You keep finding new signs and interesting decor every day.If you want to visit York, and don't want to drive a car there, this is the place to stay. It is on an out of the way side street in the city center, a short walk from the Shambles, the Minster, and the Viking Museum, and a stroll from the city walls, all of which are worth the visit.

A cosy property in the heart of York. The location is excellent with most places only a 10 minute walk away. The property was very clean and welcoming.
Checking in and checking out was simple with excellent communication provided before the stay.
