The location was ideal with the centre of York a short walk away. The property was generally clean and the kitchen was well equipped.

Whilst my bed was comfortable my sister struggled to sleep in her bed as the mattress was very uncomfortable. Some attention to detail is required: The handle to the bathroom door was loose, the screws were falling out, so we didn't fully shut the door. The shower was very slow to drain and you were stood in water whilst taking a shower. The shelf and sink unit in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, there was toothpaste and soap left on them from a previous visitor. The parking permit was an issue as even though I had provided my car registration it wasn't recognised on the system, so we had to initially pay for the parking. I did need to contact the office 3 times before this was resolved and the money was refunded.

The apartment was in the heart of York. Fossgate is a vibrant street with some good bars and restaurants and witin a few minutes walk of all york has to offer. It is also near a well stocked Co Op and Tesco extra. The cottage is full of character but with modern facilties. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay agian as the location was excellent and the cottage comfortable and well laid out but hopefully not in a heatwave.

The bathroom looks a little tired and flooded because the hair trap in the shower was full of hair. An annoyance that should have been picked up on change over. But other than that the property was exceptionally clean. We stayed at the end of a very hot period and the cottage was very airless and windows are hard to open. Fans are provided. The parking had issues. But this was sorted All contact with property managers was excellent.

The property was clean and comfortable. It had everything you needed. It was right in the heart of the city so an excellent location.

The only thing was the noise from the backyard of a social meeting place on the other side of the alley. It went on into the early hours of the morning on both nights.

There was an issue with the property (bed damaged by previous guest) which the managing company dealt with really well. Although no new bed could be found at such short notice, they arranged for one of my party to be hosted in another nearby accommodation. They arranged it all, and we were really grateful for them finding a solution.

We did not think the property was good value for money. It is brilliantly located, but for the price we expected a higher spec. Even without the damaged bed, the mattresses were cheap and you could feel the springs, the duvets lumpy, and the property had water damage in the bathroom and small things like damaged cafetiere and other small things which we would expect would be better for the price. In general, communication was not great. No full address or arrival instructions sent in advance - leaving us ringing the managing company whilst waiting outside the door of the apartment. No reply to comments about broken cafetiere. However, as mentioned, they did resolve the damaged bed issue (though they did this not having received my comments through booking.com or via text, but only when followed up with a phone call.)
