Nice hotel, very good value for money

It is a nice hotel, very well priced for Switzerland, located near the Old Town and less than 15 minutes walk to the station. Room was basic but clean, warm and comfortable. Very good value for money.

They don't provide a discount card for the main attractions as I expected.

Horrible!

The property is fairly central with a ten minute walk into town to use public transport like trains and in particular the Benina Express, which comes and goes from Chur Station.

This hotel is NOT for non-smokers and people who are sensitive to cigarette smoke. This is a hotel that encourages second hand smoking. They have a door marked "restaurant" but it is only a bar where smoking is allowed and it is full of old men smoking. Upon arrival, we immediately smelt smoke and mentioned this to the host. She said the restaurant (bar) allowed smoking but the hotel was non-smoking, yet the interleading door that goes from the reception area into the smokers bar is left open. Thus, the smell of cigarette smoke is prominent in the reception and foyer areas and as smoke rises, the smell goes up the stairs to the different levels. The hotel supplies a kettle and coffee sachets but not decaf coffee sachets, a minor detail compared to the HUGE issue of second hand smoke - and this is decades after the EU banned smoking in bars!

A great stay in Chur!

We had a great stay at this hotel, which was perfectly located - just a short walk from the Chur train station, ideal for our Bernina Express trip. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality stood out. The lady who welcomed us was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and clearly prepared with great attention to detail. It’s evident the staff go the extra mile to ensure guests feel comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to find thoughtful touches like two small bottles of wine, sparkling water, chocolates, slippers, face wipes, and even extra blankets - all the comforts that we hope for but often don't receive! Overall, it was a cozy, well-equipped stay, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chur.

Nice hotel, apart from bar full of smokers

The central position, the room was ok.

The bar at the entrance, where the reception was situated, was full of smokers. It was very unpleasant. The receptionist was lovely, took us outside to check in. And explained if you have 3 bars one is allowed to be smoking. But the others were shut.....and the lift entrance was in the bar so we had to walk up to the first floor to access the lift to take us up to our room, to avoid the smoke.

Lodgings above a pub

Perfectly clean and spacious room with kitchenette facilities and fridge above a pub on the side of a main road with short walk to altstadt.

There was air cooler that didn't bring room temperature down. No air conditioning. Could be noisy at night from people outside pub. This establishment does not subscribe to tourist guest card which gives 50% off cable car charges and free local transportation like other hotels and tourist lodgings across Switzerland.

Comfortable, clean and good value for money - what's not to love?

I had a lovely little studio room, modern in style and spotlessly clean. It was fully equipped and so thoughtfully furnished, with plenty of hooks and towel rails etc. The location was great; just off the main road, 10 minutes to the station in one direction, and 10 minutes to the very picturesque Old Town in the other. Also, no noise at all during the night, always good news! Highly recommended.

A basic room above a smoky bar, not somewhere I would recommend.

The room was clean.

The rooms were over a busy bar that was full of men drinking and smoking from 10 am to well into the evening. The smell of smoke pervaded the hallways. The rooms were through several locked doors but the arrangement was complicated and not very inviting. The location was some way from the station and centre of Chur and not a nice place to wander around as a single woman.

It was a short walk from the train station, comfortable, nicely value-priced AND great staff!

The room was more spacious than I thought it would be, and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was roomy, and the kitchenette was well stocked. There was an elevator, very small, but it was great as we were on a higher floor. There was a great view from our windows, and it was quiet at night. It was very clean, and they left chocolates on the pillows!

The pillows were comfy, but huge and for those who like to layer and adjust them, you can't. Also, one side of the bed is up next to the wall and one person has to crawl into it (and out).

Good place for such price

Room itself was like on the photos, clean and nice, good bathroom, nice lady showing the room, no noise or bad smell in the room, there is also a small refrigerator and kettle in the room. Easy check in and check out.

I would call it an interesting experience. Hotel is located above the bar. You need to go inside this bar-I would call it an authentic place haha I was checking in late evening, so was able to catch the moment: everybody is smoking, playing some table games, drinking beer, enjoying their evening, friendly and kind people who helped me when I entered this place and was shocked for couple of minutes to be honest(let’s say it’s kind of unexpected, even though I saw that there is a bar on the ground floor on the photos). Anyway, no noise/smell from that in the room, all good here. But the reception-it is on the back of the bar, small room aka kitchen- better to make a more visible sign where to find a reception, without people in the bar I would have spent some more time looking for that. And how the documents of visitors are treated - printed copies of the documents are easily accessible-it is not the way I would prefer to have my document copies ‘kept protected’. I understand that in theory nobody needs them but still. Such treatment of documents had some negative effect.

The staff were absolutely incredible, so kind and unbelievably generous! Out of all eleven countries I visited on my trip, my time here was by far the most pleasant. I truly hope to have the opportunity to visit them again some day!

Nice stay

The room has a good size and I had a quiet one (room 39). Kettle and minibar in the room. They provide tea/coffee sache and a complimentary small bottle of water. Good location, less than 10min walking from the train station.

The staff speak very poor English, we kind of communicated by signs. The radiator was on but the room wasn't really warm. The pillow was very big and tall, I had to sleep without it, it was not comfortable.

Simple and quiet, clean Otel!

This is a budget hotel. I only spend one night but if you prefer a couple of nights to stay in Chur They have laundry room, can be handy. It was quiet minimalistic but clean. I enjoyed staying there.

Die Grösse des Appartements

Rezeption in einer heruntergekommenen Kneipe Rezeptionistin hat uns zu einem Hintereingang des Hauses geführt und uns das Appartement gezeigt. Ein Lüftungsschacht machte die halbe Nacht Lärm wie von einem Dyson. In der zweiten Nacht wurde der Lärm unerträglich und wir mussten die Polizei rufen, welche uns erklärte, das Lokal hat eine Genehmigung für eine Lärmemission von 95 Dezibel. Weiters sagte der Polizist sie haben hier an der Reeperbahn gebucht, wenn sie Ruhe haben wollen gehen sie besser in ein 5 Sterne Hotel.
