Tythe Barn Cottage

Lyn e Lui são anfitriões maravilhosos: extremamente gentis, acolhedores e atenciosos. Fizeram com que nos sentíssemos muito bem recebidos desde o início. O cottage é charmoso, confortável, tranquilo e tem uma atmosfera muito especial. Foi uma experiência excelente em Glastonbury e certamente voltaríamos.

Lynne, and Lee when he's there, are just amazing hosts. You can arrange in advance for pickup at the train stations! Lee does private tours of stone circles in the area and not just Stonehenge! He has an incredible wealth of knowledge and interesting insights, was able to pivot and respond to our questions and interests, and was flexible to ensure we had personalized tours. Can't say enough about Lee. Lynne was very responsive to food preferences and after that first morning, she ensured I had cut tomatoes and cucumbers with our breakfast. Welcoming home!

We were in the twin room and it is a bit tight. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to get to the center of town, which is good and also inconvenient if you want to quickly pick up something or it's very hot out.

We made a last-minute booking to coincide with a funeral nearby, so felt lucky to find this cottage with its twin room available, especially at such a reasonable rate. The location was really central for the Tor, the Abbey, the town and the Chalice Well, and Lynne was an incredibly attentive and friendly hostess. It felt more like staying at a friend's home than in a hotel, which was lovely. We'd been a bit worried about the shared bathroom situation, but actually it was fine (unless we were the ones hogging it when someone else was trying to get in!). Good, fast wifi.

The room was on the main road so a bit noisy and we therefore needed to keep the windows shut - not ideal when it was so hot. The fan Lynne provided was a life-saver! THe twin beds were very narrow (I'm guessing 2'6" width) though the mattresses were good and firm. Lynne's breadmaker was broken so we missed out on the freshly-baked bread for breakfast. Parking was OK, as we were able to get a space in the layby opposite: if not, parking on the drive is quite tight. Note that there is no TV in the house - not a problem for us, but be sure to bring your laptop/tablet if there's something time-specific that you want to watch during your stay!

Lovely house, very well cared for, with warmth and high energy. All beautiful decoration and very clean. The garden is lovely. Breakfast was very good. The location is the best location possible because it is not on really busy streets, but on a very quiet street, very close to the centre, with a view of the Tor at the beginning of the street. I felt at home from the very first moment. The room I stayed in, overlooking the garden, was charming and peaceful, and I slept very well. The family truly made me feel at home. For me, it was a very beautiful experience to stay in this place. Lovely family. Back again one day.
