I have mixed feelings about my stay. Pros: - amazing hospitality by Sergio. He goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, very genuine and friendly, but not overly imposing. Real pleasure. - beautiful main property, cute and cozy, amazing vegetation and nice design and landscaping. - comfortable bed, high ceilings, very clean and pleasant looking rooms, good WiFi on main property (no WiFi in the second adjacent property), nice hottub Cons: - property is right on the main road connecting Malinalco and Chalma, so you get plenty of road noise as cars and motorcycles fly by. If you’re sensitive sleeper, you definitely should bring ear plugs. - a lot of confusions about the rooms when booking: no clear property map even on the main website, pictures don’t give you good idea of what exactly you’re getting. This is extremely inconvenient. - when booking a room, we finally decided to book a cabin. However, upon check-in we were offered a different room with no mention of the substitute during or prior to the check-in. When we brought this to Sergio’s attention, he gladly took us to the cabin. However, it didn’t look ready and wasn’t nearly as neatly prepared as the first room. Also, cabin looked very underwhelming in terms of the furnishing as well. Neither of the two rooms offered to us had any decent seating, e.g. sofa or chairs. it’s worth noting that manager lives in a small property connected to the Cabin. Also, cabin gets no WiFi connection.

It’s truly an earthly paradise, I would do it again and again. The care with which you are regarded has no equal. If you pop around Malinalco, this is definitely the place to stay. 10 stars plus!

Relaxing ambient music, excellent attention, great garden landscape, superb breakfast, as if your were a visitor at your own house. A must if you are planning to stay in Malinalco.

The eight room hotel took six years to construct and is based on the architectural and decorative elements the owners discovered at Gaudi's Parc Guell in Barcelona interpreted with a Mexican twist. The bathroom in our late room was particularly luxurious and the decor was both interesting and indicative of indigenous craftsmanship and design. The courtyard landscape was spectacular! The made to order breakfast was well presented and delicious. Sergio and his Papa, the owners were friendly and helpful and shared much of the history of the place with us. Our visit would not have been complete without our warm and continued greeting from Cecile, Sergio's adorable puppy who never tired of engaging us in games of fetch. She also welcomes other canine guests as the hotel is pet friendly. We wish we could have extended our stay beyond a night as their are several interesting places to visit in and around this charming town. Give Hotel Paradise a try! You won't regret it!
