San Remo

Hotel Albergo San Remo is wonderful small hotel right on the beach 3 km north from the centre of Malcesine. We are a family of five, with two teenagers and a baby and this hotel was perfect for us. We stayed in the hotel for a week at the end of July. We had a one bedroom appartment with a garage and great views from the balcony. The appartment had everything we needed for a week stay, a good wifi too. The hotel has really nice restaurant where the hotel guests get a discount. We ate there many nights as the food was wonderful (best seafood pasta on the whole trip) and not too expensive. Really nice wines too. From the hotel you can borrow bicycles, beach chairs and beach/water toys for free!!! The beach right in front of the hotel was one of the nicest as it was not crowded at all. The walk from the hotel to the city along the beach was nice too. There are places quite near to rent sup boards, canoes, etc. A small grocery store is located right next to the hotel restaurant. The hotel staff was wonderful and would help with everything. They organized a crib for the baby too. The only minus was the ineffectiveness of the airconditioning, as the days were really really hot. It worked quite ok in the livingroom, but the bedroom was really hot to sleep in. Otherwise the place is perfect for a family vacation.

Do not get fooled by the entrance of the Hotel, the entrance of the hotel is the same as for the San Remo restaurant. The rooms were super clean and had an awesome view to Lake La Garda. The windows were double insulated so you don't hear any traffic but you can open them to wake up to the crashing waves of Lake La Garda. We booked the hotel while we were on the opposite side of the lake so the GPS only had it for 5 Miles but it was cross the lake with the ferry, it was actually 25 miles away on the other side of the lake. The hotel had extremely friendly staff and very helpful. The breakfast was super super good, they had 5 different kinds of bread, 6 kinds of cheese, lots of fresh cut meat, eggs, cereal, coffee, tea. The waiters will always come to you to ask if you need anything else, the service is sooooooo awesome. This is my first stay at the San Remo hotel,we arrived at 10 PM and we still had dinner,Pizza and pasta, chicken and fish with very decent prices. The wif fi was also available throughout the hotel with no problems.The hotel location on the lake is ideal for the wind surfers, we saw the beach full of them at 6 am.There was not one negative comment I can say about the hotel except that the sign of the hotel needs to be bigger so the visitors can locate it easier. We drove past the hotel two times to find it since it was the same as the Restaurant. Many thanks to all the San Remo Hotel staff for making our one night stay at the hotel a memorable expereience
