This hotel is ideally located in Nørrebro, right next to the cemetery where H.C. Andersen and physicist Niels Bohr are buried, should you wish to pay your respects. It’s close to a metro station, with the M3 line taking you directly to Copenhagen Central Station (København H) in about 20 minutes, or you can take the 5C bus. Walking to the centre takes around 30 minutes, with plenty of vintage shops, cafés, bars, restaurants, and a lovely lake along the way. The hotel sits slightly back from the main street between two office buildings—an unusual but quiet and practical location. Entry is via a code system, with details sent in advance. My friend and I stayed in the family room, which had two beds: one downstairs and one in an open loft nook. Both areas offered a degree of privacy. The carpet had a couple of bleach stains, but the room itself was clean. The beds were comfortable, and it was pleasant to return after a day out. The duvet consisted of two singles rather than one large one, which might bother some couples. The room was warm, Wi-Fi worked well, and while the TV wasn’t connected to cable or the internet, so no Danish Tv. Overall, it was a good stay and served its purpose well. I’d recommend this hotel to couples or friends seeking a convenient, comfortable base in Copenhagen.

I did not receive the e-mail I was promised ehen I made the reservation on how to get into the ‘hotel’ - the six-digit login had run out, causing me to several attempts to verify my identity! The call to get assistance want to a multiple choice automation. I was rescued incidentally by a person doing installation work at the place, who - probably totally against the rules - found my keys!!

The property itself was very dirty. There was vomit in the planter outside upon arrival, the carpets were filthy, and I ran the shower on its hottest setting for 10 minutes before getting in because that’s the only way I could justify bathing myself in it. The communication from the hotel was basically nonexistent until after 7pm on the day of your stay and the staff is unorganized. I’m only giving the overall stay two stars because the size of the room wasn’t bad and I got a good night’s sleep.

I have been traveling A LOT in my life, and this ”hotel” is by far the worst I’ve stayed at. We booked a standard room to not have to experience nastiness, yet the room had an absurd amount of stains on the floor and BLACK MOLD in the shower. We thought about sleeping in the car instead of using the room. That’s how disgusting it was.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to request a full refund of SEK 944.83 for the booking at Hotel M18 in Copenhagen (May 22–23, 2025, guest name: Naira Sardaryan, itinerary number: 72063132522718). My daughter was unable to use the room due to the following issues: Upon arrival, she was approached by a suspicious elderly man who claimed he was waiting for her and led her to a basement-like space that had no power outlets or Wi-Fi, despite these amenities being clearly listed on the website. He gave her an entry code written on a piece of paper and left. After stepping out to inspect the area, she was unable to re-enter using the code — it was invalid. She immediately informed me, and I tried calling and writing to the hotel, but only reached an automated voicemail. Later, some people arrived and said there had been a mistake on the website, and that she was not showing up in their system, so they couldn’t check her into the room she booked. Instead, they offered her a mattress in an unclear and inadequate space, which is completely unacceptable and does not match what was promised at the time of booking. Therefore, the service was not provided, and the room conditions did not correspond to what was advertised. We expected a proper hotel room — not a basement with no basic facilities and an unreliable check-in process. I kindly request a full refund of SEK 944.83. Please see the attached screenshot confirming the booking

I had a deeply distressing experience at Hotel M18 on Meinungsgade 18 in Copenhagen on May 21st. I arrived around 10 PM and had received an email with the check-in code (xxx) to retrieve my room key from the key box. However, the key box required four digits, and the code provided was only three. I spent a long time trying combinations without success. Two fellow guests from Greece also tried to help me and confirmed the code did not work. I called the hotel multiple times using the phone number provided and sent messages through Hotels.com as instructed. To this day, I have received no response – no call back, no message, nothing. By 11:30 PM, I had no way to access my room and no one from the hotel to contact. I tried other hotels, but they were either closed or full. I was alone, on the street, without accommodation, and feeling extremely unsafe. A complete stranger overheard my conversation and kindly offered me a place to stay – otherwise, I would have been sleeping outside. This was a completely unacceptable situation, made worse by the hotel's total silence and lack of accountability. I have documentation of the incorrect instructions, photos of the key box, call logs, and witnesses who saw what happened. I have requested a full refund and compensation and have still heard nothing. I am now preparing to escalate this through official consumer complaint channels. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

The budget room was truly BUDGET. The beds didn’t have a mattress pad, you could feel the mattress springs when laying on it. The room also smelled like cigarettes, even though it said the room was smoke free.

This is a self check-in hotel. I was told I would get instructions and a door code the day before check-in, but did not receive any info. I had to call twice to get some assistance on entering the bulding and finding my key. The room was nice, but the floors creaked a lot and walls are paper thin. We could hear people in.the hallways and someone in the next room was playing loud techno at 2am. Not very nice.

If you're reading the recent reviews, you can see many people complaining of bed bugs. Don't take your chances. There is also a no refund policy (convenient) here, so they have no reason to address the issue. Staff does not reply to your concerns, and there is no reception on site to handle customer service issues if you do show up. Found another hotel and lost my money here. Awful experience, but good life lesson.

The hotell is more of a "rent a room" experience. The "hotel" cleanliness is soo far from what the pictures shows when booking! The whole place has been neglected. Dirty carpets, dirty walls, spider web on roof lining, old moldy dust on top of curtains, mold in shower, chalk all over the place from the chalky water in bathroom, extremly noisy. Walls and floors must be made of paper.. bad service when checking in.

Hotel not recommended! We want our money back! Before we arrived, we read that there had been bed bugs in the hotel for a month. But the staff denied this. We decided to go to the hotel anyway and were horrified to find that there were clear signs of bed bugs. We found ink-like stains, bed bug scales on the bed and in the drawers, as well as fresh droppings that could be wiped off. We also found a larva under the bed linen! After we had photographed it, we left the accommodation immediately and drove on. We actually wanted to spend a day in Copenhagen, but we weren't allowed to. It's a shame.

This was a good place to stay for a couple of days. The room was clean and furnishings comfortable. I read a couple reviews that said it was a noisy place, but it was very quiet - there are no businesses in close proximity that are noisy (although plenty of restaurants are just a couple blocks away). Full kitchen is available for use. Would stay again.

There was a sign saying to call or email of we needed anything. I immediately noticed some of towels were badly stained and we had less than ONE toliet paper roll for our stay. I emailed right way -- i -- i emailed twice and NO reply EVER. The room was VERY dusty and i had to wipe evething with a wet wipe. There was no cable ( if that matters to you).
