    I stayed 7 nights as a solo traveller - my first time in Manchester. The location is super, with Chinatown just across the road and lots of food options within walking distance. As a base, the location was excellent. The only thing I would say that perhaps could be improved is the breakfast selection. The optional buffet breakfast was sufficient but not overwhelming. Sufficient to fill your stomach before heading out for the day. Would I stay here again if I come back to Manchester? YES.

    This was our first time to an A&O hostel it was outstanding. Centrally located, we were in the second building which was a former Mercure hotel. The rooms were identical to the Ibis Styles we’d stayed at in Liverpool. Modern, clean, capsule shower. Just steps from dozens of eateries in China town, down the street from the art gallery and the trams. An absolute gem. We will be back.

    pretty clean, centrally located (and close to piccadilly gardesn bus hub and multiple train stations). Very long lines for checkin (effectively only 1.5 people at check in desk) , very rigid and unforgiving for honest and simple booking mistakes

    On my first night the fire alarm went off at 3am which scared the shit out of me and it only stops when I was about to leave the room. I was comped a day of breakfast but this should not happen to begin with. The room is spacious and clean but there is also a few drainage flies that ruined it.
