There was no continental breakfast, a chair was broken and a light burnt out during our stay.. The staff was super nice. And it was close to stores.

I reserved 2 rooms for a sporting event the next day. No toilet paper in one room. Tried to use sofa bed and there were no sheets, pillows, blankets. Tried to call housekeeping or front desk. In-room phone didn't work. Went downstairs to front desk and they had one very thin blanket left ( for the whole hotel)so we had to go to the car to get some sporting events blankets out of car for the bed and take pillows from off the king bed for sofa bed. We were informed on check in that they have no breakfasts on weekends. No one at the front desk seemed to care. Pool was so cold and the pool room was so cold you could'nt stand to be in there with a bathing suit on. My husband and teenage grandchildren just came back to the room disappointed. Oh there were no pool towels anyway. This whole experience is such a disappointment. I will not stay with this brand again. event blankets out of the car

⭐ 1 out of 5 stars Sonesta Select Detroit Novi – Extremely Disappointing Stay My stay at this hotel was awful from the beginning. Check-in took an unnecessary amount of time despite there being no real reason for the delay. When I finally got to my room, things only got worse. The entire room — and honestly the hotel overall — was filthy. There was no microwave or fridge, which is unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. The bathroom in the room was so dirty that the public lobby restrooms were actually cleaner. Multiple things didn’t work, including the lamps, lights, and outlets. Behind the nightstands were inches of dust, and the drawers in both the nightstand and dresser were absolutely filthy. The TV was glitchy and only worked about half the time. To put it into perspective, I’ve stayed at cleaner, more comfortable Motel 6s and Red Roof Inns than this place — and that says a lot. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would not stay here again and absolutely would not recommend it to anyone.

Staff was great. Main party of facility was good and clean. Room had dog kibble on the floor (didn’t really bother us but showed a lack of house keeping quality). Balcony had pigeon droppings and strong odor such that the space was unusable. Beds and room were comfortable.

I checked in and my son noticed that the bathroom faucet was leaking and could not be turned off. I went to call the front desk to let them know, the phone didn't work. I walked down to show them a picture I took & all I was told is you won't be charged. Later on in the night I discovered our TV had 2 channels and they weren't event clear. Furthermore, waking up in the middle of the night I almost slipped when walking into the bathroom because the leak from the faucet must have worsened. The carpet was soaked in front of the vanity sink area, so wearing shoes was required. While checking out the staff informed me that my room should have not been checked out to anyone, however there was nothing they could do for me.

When I arrived at the hotel desk I had to wait fifteen minutes before the receptionist showed up to the desk. The room was dirty. The bath tub had a dirty ring around it. There was hair in the towels. The floor wasn't vacuumed. I won't recommend this place to anyone. It is ridiculous that I had to put 100.00 deposit for that hotel

I went to this hotel to have a staycation. My room was ok. The bathroom had a foul smell (thank goodness I had essential oils on hand). I asked the front desk when I checked in what are the hours for breakfast and he said 6-9am. When I got downstairs at 8:15am There were 25 people there wondering where the breakfast was and not a staff member in site. A staff member came 15 minutes later and stated she did not work in this area and let her find someone for us. When the male staff member came (with an attitude) he stated that there was only continental breakfast on Weekdays. He put coffee out and left. The pool looked nice. At night there were children running down the halls and knocking on doors. I had to call the staff from my cell phone because the room phone was not working and it was handled. Overall I would give this hotel a 5 ojut of 10

Terrible experience. I booked a 4 day stay at the Sonesta. Immediately upon entering the room I started itching and could tell that the room had been wiped down and not thoroughly cleaned and disinfected from the previous guests. After inspecting thoroughly I found a half cleaned toilet with caked up feces and urine attached to the inside of the toilet bowl, a dirt shower, and small blood stains on my sheets and pillows. I will never stay at this location again.
