    I booked a capsule bed in a shared 4 bed dorm, with shared bath. The bed space is adequate, but the whole house is old and small. Shared bath is under the stairs, and sink is in a 40cm wide nook. Okay for a single night stay.

    I stayed with two other friends in the quad room. The room was lovely and the host was super nice. Luckily we were the only ones in the house so it was very comfortable. There was ample hot water in the shower.

    the owner was very attentive and always makes sure her guests are doing fine. she gave advise on how to maximize your time in Nikko. love the place. hope to be back.

    The communication from the owner is not good. When I questioned what the extra 2000 yen charge was (prior to my stay) I was told it was for cleaning. This should be stated on the property description. If the owner is going to go for Airbnb style charges they should stick to that platform. They immediately waited 24 hours to communicate check-in details after I questioned the 2000yen charge. Note that all of the Japanese reviews aren’t positive. For foreign tourists note that this place is a tourist trap.
