    A quiet hotel away from city located 2km from the train station. There is free hotel shuttle service by booking. No breakfast not near any shops or restaurants! Helpful staffs and great room!

    Excellent stay! The room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. The location was perfect for exploring the city, just slightly a bit far. But shuttle bus to town is provided. Highly recommend.

    This is my hotel in Nikko and one of the nicest hotel that I have stayed in Japan. It is about 5 mins drive from Nikko station and the stay is super comfortable with nice mountain views. Only downside is there is no restaurant and onsen in this hotel. Recommended for family with kids.

    The hotel made me miss my train! I needed to be in Shinjuku, Tokyo by 9:30am, which meant I needed to leave the hotel by around 6:30am latest. The day before, I asked the front desk if they could call me a taxi for the following morning, and they replied saying 6:30 was too early and that no taxi company operates at that time and that the earliest time a taxi would be available would be at 7. Fine, not much I could do in that case. Since the hotel is located on a mountainside and it takes 20-30 minutes to walk to Tobu Nikko Station, I resolved to leave a bit earlier, by 6:20, so I could get to Tobu Nikko Station in time to catch the 6:53 train, which would’ve allowed me to get to Shinjuku by 9:30. That morning, I was packed and ready to check out by 6:20, but there was no one at the front desk. I tried calling, no one picked up. They had no express checkout service where you could just drop your room key in a box, so I basically just had to wait until somebody showed up, which wasn’t until 6:50 or so. By then, I obviously had no chance of catching the 6:53 train. The hotel also was not able to offer me any solution to get me to the station ASAP given the taxi situation, and the male receptionist simply told me that I should consider walking to the station if I was in a hurry. Moreover, two days prior to this incident, I had reserved a seat on the 6:30pm shuttle back to the hotel from train station. It didn’t show up, and after it still didn’t show up after another 10 minutes, I finally called them and only then did they send another shuttle to come pick me up. The guy on the phone even had the audacity to suggest that the shuttle came by at 6:30 but there was no one waiting so it left (I had arrived at the pickup point by 6:25, so he was obviously lying). However, I must say the premises and the decor were quite nice. The property was new, clean, and appeared well-maintained. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, although there were some minor issues with the design, such as the lack of a towel rack at the bathroom counter to hang hand/face towels. The staff were mostly friendly, polite and helpful, apart from the shuttle guy and the male receptionist on the morning of my departure. It’s a shame that the serious problems I experienced tarnished what would’ve otherwise been a wonderful stay.
