What we loved most about the property was the extraordinary combination of historic character and bold, modern design. The villa itself is a beautifully preserved listed building, full of charm and history, yet the interiors have been thoughtfully and creatively reimagined. Because of the building’s protected status, the owners have cleverly incorporated freestanding design elements and colourful structural features within the rooms, which makes each space feel unique and architecturally striking. Our room was exceptionally beautiful, with vibrant colours, a huge comfortable bed, and an enormous television. We were especially impressed by the distinctive touches — for example, our room included a fitness machine, while another room (the gold room) featured a small inbuilt sauna. These unexpected details made the stay feel truly special.
The location is outstanding — just a short walk from the main square in the centre of Ravenna, making everything easily accessible while still feeling peaceful.
Above all, the host made the experience unforgettable. He was incredibly welcoming, funny, and generous with his time. He shared fascinating history about the house, gave excellent recommendations for places to visit, and explained practical details such as parking and local amenities clearly and helpfully. His warmth and personality added so much to the stay.
We genuinely could not have asked for more — a spectacular property in a prime location, hosted by someone who clearly cares deeply about his guests.
I love that our only complaint is basically “we had to leave.” That’s the kind of problem everyone wants. 😄
