As we explained to host, our visit was to be near our little grandson who was having major surgery at Southampton hospit
Close to hospital, which was reason for our visit
Very Comfortable bed, though it was next to a wall so you had to climb in and out over a sleeping person!
We searched Booking.com for accommodation for 3 adults and 5 yr old, and this property came up. I ordered extra bed for child, and confirmed this with host who replied that they could provide airbed if I provided bedding. On arrival, no extra bed, but host agreed to send one. By evening bed had not arrived, so 3rd adult had to find accommodation elsewhere so one of us could use sofa bed. The following day a tiny travel cot (literally newborn size) was delivered.
Contacted Booking.com who said issue would go to customer service, but never had a reply after that.
Back “garden” was a yard with overflowing bin and rubbish everywhere
Bathroom taps were loose and moved when you turned them on
Toilet bowl very stained and unpleasant, reported to host.
Booked for 3, but only 2 glasses and 2 dinner plates, one saucepan and frying pan, one very small, stained oven tray in oven. No oven gloves. No light bulb in one of the ceiling lights. We were so busy at hospital that I gave up messaging host at this point, but I do feel that it if properties were checked between guests these issues should be noted.

The bathroom stank of smoke. I unintentionally left the flat one day having left the bathroom door open. On my return the whole apartment stank of smoke. This is baked into the walls. The cutlery in the draw had, what looked like, fatty greece on it, so I had to clean the cutlery before use. There was no hand soap at the bathroom or kitchen sinks. The sofa is so stained and dirty I didn't want to sit on it. Exactly at 10am the cleaner banged on my door to tell me check out is at 10. When I said 'I know', she asked how long I will be.

Very disappointed with this “luxury” apartment. Not sure where to start…?
Apartment was clean & smelled pleasant, but full of cobwebs. Hot tap in the bathroom is not working, which I see was mentioned in a previous review. Not yet rectified. Bathroom could do with a refreshing lick of paint, but otherwise satisfactory.
The oven has no markings left on the front, so hard to establish how to use it, especially as it only had one functioning knob! Could not use hob, as it kept tripping the fuse. Not ideal for a self-catering apartment!
Three guests, but no linen for the sofa bed? Sofa bed very uncomfortable - with a solid bar going right through the middle!! No pillow cases for sofa bed, no duvet or sheet. Just a blanket. Noticed this was also mentioned on a previous review, and in your response you stated that this was because there were only two guests - we stated three guests were staying when booking.
Main bed was okay. However, the mattress is broken - ended up rolling to one side constantly as a result. Front windows do not close - not great for security on a ground floor property. Also means traffic noise is really intrusive. Property is in a rough area - observed multiple drug deals!! Front garden completely overgrown & full of rubbish!
Noticed that your response to a previous negative review was VERY rude, and borderline threatening, suggesting that a negative review was left in order to receive a full refund & therefore a free stay. All the pointers in the negative review were correct & accurate. They have every right to a full refund, as would we. It is awful to publically accuse a customer of trying to acquire a free stay - you stated in said response that you’d noticed this pattern before in people’s behaviours (in terms of requesting a refund on checking out) - surely this “pattern” should clearly indicate some issues with the property?
