Comfy and did the job for the night so we didn’t have to drive to Southampton and back same day

Good location, SUPER comfy beds!!! Sofa’s were nice too.

Cleanliness…not good at all! Washing still sat in the washing machine, cutlery had been put back in the drawer dirty! 3 forks still had food on, 2 knives greasy as if they’d been used and out straight back, tea spoon still dry stained with tae/coffee. Dish washer didn’t look like it had been cleaned for a while. White towel in the bathroom was already dirty before we used it.

Staying at this property was not a good experience at all

The house is very spacious.

When we arrived there was no hot water in the kitchen and none upstairs. After travelling for 5. Hours 30 minutes to get there We could not use the bath or the bathroom sink. I did speak to the owner and he advised we could use the shower but that did not solve the downstairs issue. He passed my mobile number to his house keeper who rang me and admitted that they knew there was an issue with the boiler. Bearing in mind it is winter. We did need hot water. The house keeper gave me advise on how the get the boiler working but the boiler never worked and up to me going to bed at 11 pm there still was no hot water. Whilst I was talking to the house keeper my daughter in law tried to shower her 7 year old daughter and the shower went cold more than once so basically we could not use the shower too. This had a massive impact on our stay at this property. I would also add that my double duvet was the thinnest old duvet I have ever seen. I was very cold all night and did not sleep well at all. I noticed that the windows were all grubby rusty old single pane windows. Especially upstairs where it was cold. The waterproof rubber seal under the glass shower door is black and green with mold. The whole house needs some Care and attention.

Perfect location for Southampton city centre, clean good sized accommodation at a reasonable price.

Clean and spacious and good location. The property had a large kitchen diner, good size lounge and three good sized bedrooms with an adequate bathroom. Good value for the money we paid for one night.

There weren't enough dining chairs, the main cooker was not working and the bedding requires some updating.

Very Pleasant Stay

I read previous reviews which I was concerned about but it looked like any previous issues have been addressed, I was more than happy with our stay and would stay again whilst visiting family.

Absolutely rubbish and waste of time and money

it was some where to sleep wish I'd booked into a hotel, there were spiders in the bathroom with cobwebs above the toilet, the headboard in one bedroom was covered in dust, looked as if had not been cleaned in months, how many bugs would be living on that dust?? Cracks in the walls and ceiling, single glazed old windows, two of my family left has the sheets on the dusty bed made them itchy and they booked into another hotel at midnight, there was rubbish brushed behind the front room door, not worth they money, the smoke detector was hanging off and I will be requesting a refund. Seriously DO NOT BOOK, this dive of a place.

Great location and value dor money for a pre/post cruise group.

The space was superb. Particularly the entrance where we could leave all our suitcases (8) and enjoy the space. We were only there for one night so it meant we could unpack/ repack without disturbing anyone else.

The decor was quite ‘tired’ looking but clean. It had everything that we needed. I will mention that if you have a big car the driveway entrance is very ‘tight’ and there is no room for any kind of ‘swing’ to get in so I had to make sure we approached the property from the other side of the road so I could turn into it. Tall brick walls at the entrance had me holding my breath every time I went in or out! If I’d have known, I probably wouldn’t have chosen the property.

It was so bad, we emailed on the Wednesday evening our concerns and advised that we had no other option other than to fi

There were no details sent beforehand advising us of the entry code to the house. We had to drive to Asda where we knew we could get internet access to look in the messages on the app to get this information. On entry to the property we found it to be in an unclean condition. There was left over milk cartons in the fridge, shopping receipts on the worktop (dated August 2025!), the rubbish look like they haven’t been emptied in weeks/months. The house was freezing cold and despite saying there was internet access, the WiFi code we did cone across didn’t work. The outside of the property was no better with empty windows bottles in the garden which was also littered with rubbish.

It has three bedrooms.

Ground floor was clean , but all bedrooms were dirty , no body bother to change bedsheets , duvet sheets and pillow covers, they were extremely dirty , that we were not able to sleep on it , mattresses were very old , their springs you cold feel on your hands , one of the rooms windows were actually very old , and we could not close , i have paid for the night with my family , and kids wanted to home and does not wanted to stay , i don’t know why booking. Com has given … to that property , unbelievable!

Worst experience I’ve had using booking.com

Owner didn’t provide code to property and was unreachable so we were stranded upon arrival after a 3 hour drive in the heat. When we finally got in the property there was no tissue, no toilet paper and the house was barely cleaned with sticky surfaces in the kitchen and dirt in the other rooms so we had to go back out immediately to do a full shop. We needed up leaving early because the place was so disappointing.

Dirty, sticky, awful scary garden and derelict area of house beside it

The house is spacious and in a nice area.

I'm reluctant to leave my review because having re-read others more carefully, I notice that every negative review has been "refuted" and the person leaving it verbally attacked. I think it's only honest & right for me to warn people though. DON'T STAY HERE!!! The owner in a response to someone's complaint has said it is waiting to be demolished, and honestly, it has that feel about it. We arrived to find what looked like the gate broken into, I went through & found a large overgrown rubbish strewn garden. There was part of the house (which has been blocked off inside) with rubbish and weeds and an open door to a derelict area of the house. It was like something out of a scary movie honestly. I wish we'd left then. The house, although spacious, is sparse and has a very empty feel. Everything was dirty and sticky. The oven was broken and there was nothing to tell us about that - I found out by re-reading reviews which mentioned it! Paint peeling. Cobwebs. Chipped sides. Broken dirty kettle. Only 3 bowls & 1 teaspoon. Exposed wiring in the bedroom. Nails randombly sticking out of the wall. The shower (and water generally) runs boiling hot then freezing so I couldn't put any of the kids in the shower. The windows have a pealing adhesive sticker on them so you can't see the rubbish outside. Even the front of the house looks abandoned. Literally, I can't write every negative thing I found down. I just can't stress enough that it was just a terrible experience from start to finish. I honestly can't understand the positive reviews in here at all (it feels like there's definitely something underhand going on!) and would definitely discourage anyone from staying here.

The size of the property and distance to the port and town centre.

BADLY needs updating, an overgrown messy garden, old dirty windows, no towels or any amenities, broken toilet seat lying, food in the freezer, curtains all stained and hanging off, cupboards have lots of stuff in them, and reading previous months old reviews on the same subject looks like the owner just doesn't care.

Great house but needs fixing up and cleaning to a higher quality inside and out.

Spacious, lovely building

Outside didn't look appealing rubbish left around fag ends, glass wood with nails, took out 2 yr with us had to keep her indoors and carry her to the car incase she hurt herself or picked up something she should of. Inside sort of clean but needed alot of improvements things left from what I assume was the previous occupent like half empty shower gels and food in the fridge and freezer, vinyl in the kitchen tops was coming off, the cooker door didn't shut properly. The kettle needed descaling and cleaning, there was a head board left in one of the bedrooms, it didn't feel like staying in a home someone was letting out for holiday makers it felt like stopping in someone else's house with how things were just randomly left around. Very hard to park on the drive way space between walls was small and couldn't park on the road as it was a main road.

Location to peppa pig world and size

When we arrived for our first evening and went to us the hot water for the first night, the hot water ran for approximately 30 seconds and reached a temperature near scalding, it then turned freezing cold which lasted approximately 1 minute. It made it impossible to wash the children with ease and even was the dishes. We had to resort to boiling a kettle making the washing facilities inadequate. We reported this on the first evening and again on the second night. The host is reporting that there are no issues as been checked by a plumber but my husband is an experienced plumber and suggested the diagnosis of a blocked heat exchanger. The host also suggested that we had run the water too long but this would only happen after a significant time with a combi boiler but a blocked heat exchanger would cause this to happen. After this bad experience, it made me consider other things in the property that were not good enough No toilet seat Damaged furniture Sticky counter tops and kitchen floor Only one side of the oven works Very uncomfortable beds

Great place to stay, big house big rooms and quiet.

Don’t leave the key in the door on the inside as it locks you out! Overall great place to stay, all the comforts of home. One thing the entrance to the driveway is incredibly narrow, so if you are driving towards it and the entrance is on your left, you won’t be able to arc around into the drive from the road. Solution is drive further, turn around and come back along main road, enter the driveway from the other side of the road ( driving in to the property now on the right side , that way you’ll be able to straighten up and drive straight in …mind your wing mirrors.)

Spacious and warm stay

Very spacious home. Comfortable beds. Central and not far from shops. Parking off road. Thank you to the owner for putting the heating on before we arrived. It was a lovely welcome after a cold day.

I gave a 7 because I would have liked a couple of flat trays to be able to cook on. The oven door kept slipping open just a bit. I struggled with oven symbols, so cooking wasn't great for me. The bathroom shower I couldn't get to grips with either, don't think that's the property's fault but couldn't shower. Bit dusty with hairs here and there, but for the price, great value.and lots of room.

It was in a good location for our visits for the weekend at Southampton , the New Forest and Paultons Park

The lovely advertised photographs of the property does not reflect how it looks in its current state , safety issues include no emergency access out of the back door as no key available and also a small area outside with new with no gated access , gas hob in kitchen with and air vents sealed up faulty oven door making oven controls hot and only 3 old saucepans provided to cook anything with , half of drive way broken concrete with no access with debris piled up , Bath overflow drain blocked by front door and overflowing onto drive , middle door of property blocked off with plasterboard and a mirror on it as other half of property appears to be let with their access through a locked door into the back garden to their door , also throughout our stay men ,would arrive at any time and go through gate and gain access to a garage/storage shed then would regularly come out and stand washing utensils outside our kitchen window , not very reassuring not knowing what they were doing there

Super emplacement !

L'emplacement et le logement était vraiment super, nous avons vraiment apprécié le séjour. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables.

Certains équipements étaient trop usés, et du coup impossible de vraiment cuisiner avec. En dehors de ce détails tout les autres équipements étaient tops ! Nous avons eu de l'eau froide tout le long du séjour, après en avoir discuté, la personne a indiqué qu'elle enverrait un plombier mais c'était vraiment difficile pendant ces quelques jours à 5 personnes.
