Great location, fair price, poor conditions

Location was great

Building in poor condition. Apartment had no hand towels, no face towels, no towel for floor at tub. No Air conditioning. Bathroom needs repairs. TV wouldn’t connect. Bed was uncomfortable. Lots of street noise from cars and people.

The host responds to messages quickly and was friendly and helpful. Key was accessible on a key safe to the block entrance.

Unfortunately the place just did not do it for me and my young family. Our first impression was it wasn't the best area. The underground car park, although mentioned it was safe, had old mattresses and furniture on the side on the way in. There was a car on bricks inside and a guy just hanging around in a corner that led nowhere, so we looked for somewhere else to park. The other available locations didn't feel safe to leave the car. The block interior was run down and untidy. The front door did not seem original and swift kick could break the lock. It was a two bedroom apartment which we wanted but the kitchen had mould in the cupboards and it smelled of damp. The spare bedroom window was held open with a pole and I couldn't close it. The main bedroom cupboard had a door missing and the other side is securely fixed. On the way out, the were more people loitering around the car park. We booked another location and left within a half hour. Note: I lived in Southampton for over 12 years before moving abroad so I know the city. Unfortunately not quite what I expected.

Good but too noisy

-The apartment is big and clean. -The position of the apartment is very good, close to the city center. -The kitchen is clean and well-equipped. -The mattresses were good. -There's a smart TV with Netflex, YouTube, and other apps. -The property owner responded to our calls and emails quickly and politely

- It's noisy because it's in front of the street with traffic, also during the night, and because of old windows with zero noise isolation. - No reminder was sent 1-2 days before arrival for check-in and payment of a £100 deposit. I was obliged to check in on the way to the apartment - We spent a lot of time trying to find the apartment because, based on the official address, Google Maps brought us about 300 meters away from it. I suggest including Google geo-coordinates in the official email. - It was not possible to leave our two bags in the apartment for a few hours after checkout, explained by the necessity to clean the apartment for the next guest. - There was no WiFi name and password provided, and it was necessary to find the router to discover them. I suggest including the WiFi name and password in the official email.

No toilet paper

The property it self was clean and the location was very convenient. Mostly there was nice decor

I chose to stay at this property due to the location and the fact it had free parking, the owner had previously said the parking lot did not look great but was safe. On arrival, they were correct the parking was dark and dingy, rubbish was scattered everywhere. The apartment it self was clean but had numerous problems; I arrived at 8pm on a Sunday and there was no toilet paper at all, after contacting the owner to make sure that this wasn’t the standard they dropped some off 24hours later. I also understand that not every place has amenities, but this flat literally had none. There was no salt or pepper or tea towels in the kitchen. It says that there is a Hive temperature monitor in the apartment, this wasn’t true and there was no way to turn on the radiators. The window in one of the rooms did not fully close. The front bedroom faces out onto the road, whilst the back faces onto a rail track, so either way you’ve got noise.
