City center apt - garage prenotabile

Sehr gute Lage; Wohnung in einem schönen Gebäude in einer sympathischen Gegend.

Die Vermieterin hätte in ihren Emails, die sie vor dem Check-in verschickt hatte, einen angenehmeren Ton wählen sollen. Die Mails enthielten einen Haufen von Verboten und Drohungen mit Strafgebühren.

The host Bianca was very responsive and was available to get back quickly on issues we were having. She quickly provided follow up help. The room had air conditioning which worked.

I wish that we felt like welcomed and valued guests here, however the reality is that we were dealing with a highly impersonal and transactional business. Our very first impression was surprise and disappointment that Bianca, the host, could not be more welcoming and pleasant during our check in process. Immediately she was annoyed because I had not filled out the rental application paperwork which included passports prior to our stay. She seemed annoyed because I didn't immediately understand her lengthy pdf instructions on how to hunt for and retrieve the key and garage remote as well as being able to find the garage which unexpectedly turned out to be blocks down the street. It's so easy, she kept saying-- it's all in the pdf file! We had travelled a long way, were extremely tired, overheated and trying to follow instructions. Her confusing pages of info also covered all the precautions and rules of what we were not supposed to do once in the apartment. The apartment turned out to be located in what looked to be an attic at the top of an apartment building--- clean, but run down and depressing looking. The beds and towels were clean and there was an odd written warning that we would be financially responsible for any stains, holes or damage to the linen if caused during our stay. My husband could not stand up in the shower as the ceiling was slanting at a low angle and covered with wall paper--- the spray was handheld. A bottle of hair conditioner was left at the tub to be used for body wash. The entire operation seemed to be to extract whatever could be gotten from customers while giving the minimum in return.
