Once the booking was confirmed, the hosts sent a digital guidebook to the accommodation and surrounding areas with clear information that conveyed all that was needed for any occupiers.
The photos included on the listing were plentiful & detailed so reality matched expectations & the accommodation was very well decorated.
The cottage was very well stocked with what you would need for a self catering stay - the inclusion of breakfast options and milk & juice in the fridge was a thoughtful touch. There was even an iron/board & a hairdryer in the accommodation.
The location was great! It was a quieter area but only a short walk into Chester & there was also a bus stop near the property.
Heating worked well & the shower was clean & powerful.
Overall, a superb location for us as a couple (& probably up to 4 people) to explore Chester!
These are such nitpicky points that didn't really impact our stay but could just provide the hosts with extra information from fresh eyes:
The salt mill was empty - it's great to offer items down to salt & pepper but it must have been missed on the last changeover.
We don't have a bath at home, so we were looking forward to a soak. Unfortunately, the position of the taps one end & the shower curtain tie-back the other meant there wasn't a great place to place your head. We shower to wash though, so this was just a potential bonus that fell short.
We personally feel it would be an uncomfortable squish to sleep 6 people in the accommodation & although there were plenty of bowls/plates/wine glasses for that number, regular glasses & cutlery were a little lacking for that many, though an easy fix.
Last point, the towel radiator in the bathroom is very close to the toilet, so the toilet roll holder is positioned quite awkwardly far back on the wall to your left. There is room to move the rad closer to the doorway, though this is a more intrusive remedy, or a freestanding toilet roll holder could be utilised instead.

I had a really lovely stay at 4 Grosvenor Cottage. It’s a beautiful place — stylishly decorated, very comfortable, and in a great location. It felt really cosy and relaxing, and I genuinely enjoyed my time there. The hosts also checked in to make sure everything was okay, which was a nice touch. I would happily return.
Nothing significant — I’ve shared a couple of minor suggestions with the hosts directly, but nothing that detracted from or diminished my stay.

Die Innenraum Ausstattung war schön. Die Lage sehr gut. Nachts war es ruhig.
So gut wie alle Fenster konnte man nicht öffnen (sie wurden zu gemalt). Nur 1 kleines oben konnte man 10 cm auf Kipp öffnen. Dementsprechend war die Wohnung die ganze Zeit Stickig und sehr warm. Wir mussten die Haustür öffnen um Luft in die Wohnung zu bekommen. Aber nachts ging das natürlich nicht.
Die Temperatur der Dusche konnte man in Theorie regulieren, aber obwohl es auf kalt eingestellt war. Hat es jede 1-2 min von verbrennend heiß zu kalt geswichted obwohl man nichts verändert hat.
