Arthur’s Cottage

The cottage is beautiful in a great location close to the town centre. The lovely welcome was much appreciated

Car park space was a little small but obviously the cottage was built when cars were much smaller

Location in the centre of Skipton was good and reasonably quiet apart from the road noise at the front early morning

The parking situation was poor - if you have a car that is bigger than a small family car like a Fiesta there was not enough room to park outside the front of the property. The alternative side roads suggested were full of other cars or traffic cones to deter parking. We ended up parking in the nearby long stay public car park which cost us £19.80 for a weekly ticket. Maybe this should be pointed out and possibly added into the property description. Fortunately we stayed when it was summer time so the weather was reasonably good but this could be a problem when the autumn/winter sets in

Perfect location to explore the Dales and North Yorkshire. Spotlessly clean with well equipped kitchen. Spacious and comfortable lounge area. Had everything we needed.

Need to have thicker or blockout curtains in the front bedroom. We were awake at 6 am each morning with the light streaming in the room. Not what you want when you are on holiday! No information was left about where to put rubbish or recycling. Had an old style rubbish bin but the other houses seemed to have the newer wheely bins. Had to park on nearby streets but always managed to find a space.
