Perfect cottage in a perfect location - excellent !👍

Great interaction with the owners following our booking - Steve was in touch regularly to make sure everything was ok. Fantastic location - 5 minutes & you were in the centre of Skipton. Very cosy cottage - tucked away from main road & it felt like a perfect ‘hideaway’. We stayed between the 2nd & 4th January & the cottage was lovely & warm. Some thoughtful touches by the owners - milk in the fridge & some biscuits on arrival. We would definitely return to the cottage & would have no hesitation in recommending the place.

Lovely Place to Stay

The location was great, being very close to the centre of Skipton. The cottage had everything we needed, it was lovely, warm and very clean.

Just the weather! But that's expected in late November in the north. Nothing not to like about the cottage.

Weekend Break

The cottage was absolutely spot on. The hosts kept in touch.Everything was clean and the cottage had everything we needed. Was dog friendly and took our little dog Alfie. The hosts even put up a xmas tree and decorations which was a lovely touch.Only 5 minutes walk to town centre. We ate at The Bay Horse which was lovely food. Would definitely recommend this cottage. Wish we were there longer.

The only fault was the weather but it did not spoil our stay.

Enjoyable and as we had nice weather we were able to sit outside occasionally.

The location and it was well equipped barring a washing machine.

We would have liked a washing machine as we were there for a week. The stairs were narrow and steep which we knew from comments but we couldn’t get cases up the stairs and had to leave them downstairs as we are in our 80’s!

Perfect little cottage for two 😊

A perfect little stone cottage for two. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, well furnished and equipped with everything in good working order and had enough outdoor space to sit out in an evening. Great location close to the town centre, canal and park. The host was very good too.

The cottage didn't have any space to park the car but we didn't have a problem finding a space close by in the side streets.

If you need a relaxing holiday....

Great location. Skipton market place is only 5 minutes walk. Plenty of places to visit such as Grassington village which has some lovely shops and cafes and Aysgarth falls where we had a picnic. Also you only have to pay for the parking not to see the falls.

Poor

The cottage itself was lovely, well appointed, quality bedding etc.

First impression was bad when we walked into terrace and was met with weeds and lines of bins behind the row of shops in front of the cottage. It says the stairs are steep but these are more like a step ladder with a carpet covering, when I went into the cottage I couldn't find stairs and finally opened a door in the kitchen which I thought was a pantry did I find mount Everest. They say they are dog friendly but no grass anywhere within quick(poo)walking distance, courtyard is paved. Finally the worst complaint is the recommendation for parking round the corner in Gainsborough Court, beware of the extremely unfriendly residents who are quick to advise it is private, it is not, then git quite nasty when my male dog peed against the tyre of a car, in fact it was our car, every time we went to get the car one of the residents was there, all in all it did not make for a relaxing holiday, we left early, only staying as long as we did because we were visiting elderly relatives. Such a shame because the owners have put a lot of thought and effort into the cottage, I think they maybe should amend their advert.

Comfortable & peaceful, perfect for a couple.

Self catering so breakfast n/a. Excellent location. Close enough to walk to everything in Skipton and far enough away from town centre to be quiet at night. We parked the car (on Salisbury St) after unloading and it didn't move again until we departed at the end of our stay. We used public transport for our trips outside of Skipton.

A couple more towels would have been appreciated.

Perfect for a single or a couple. Location good - about 5 mins walk from the centre of town and despite being that close very quiet. Clean with all facilities. Upstairs a very large bathroom and good sized bedroom with a large amount of wardrobe space. Downstairs a compact kitchen and separate lounge room. we travelled by train so no car hence parking not an issue for us. Stayed there a week ago, experienced reasonably cold conditions but terrace remained warm. Owner’s instructions concise and accurate.

Excellent stay in a cosy cottage situated very close to the town centre!

We really enjoyed our stay at Thisledo - and so did our little dog, who settled in very well from the start! It's a nice and cosy little cottage with character and it's ideally located near the town centre. Skipton is beautiful with lots of nice cafes and restaurants, the majority of which are dog-friendly, as of course was the cottage itself. The location is also great for hiking and exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the nearby villages and towns. Finally, a big thank you to the hosts, who were very helpful and made sure everything was OK by discreetly checking in on us via text messages.

Short stay in Skipton.

The cottage was well situated for the town centre. It was well equipped clean and comfortable. Good that dogs were accepted in this property so they could come on holiday with us! Communication from the host was excellent throughout. Would recommend.

It was not possible to park close to the cottage so unloading and loading was tricky but not too much of an issue and we were aware of this when we booked.

Lovely dog friendly cottage close to town and lots of walks

Thiswilldo cottage, has everything you need for a home away from home stay, lovely comfy bed, great walk in shower in a big bathroom, nice big fluffy towels, very well equipped kitchen they even have Netflix ect, exultant location both for a stroll in to town( lots of dog friendly pubs ect) and for hikes in the dales ect . Not far from a lovely park or the castle woods (we Evan got to see a baby otter one day there) to walk dogs in ours loved it. Communication with the owners was excellent throughout. We would definitely stay here again next time we holiday this way.

Spotless little cottage, beautifully renovated. Comfy bed and all we needed for a 3 day stay. Communication with owner throughout the booking period and on arrival was appreciated.
