A special Croatian hospitality

Was small but sweet. All I needed for one night. I was in a single room but it was creative so you could move the bed up and down and use the chair. The family were amazing… I could drop my luggage off early, the dad gave me a lift to the fortress, I joined them for a drink, sat down and chatted. All very beautiful and a special addition to my Croatian experience.

The location is very close to the city center, only about five to ten minutes away. The great thing is you don’t have to climb many stairs. The room is excellent, it feels like a 5-star hotel room. The air conditioning in the room is great, and there is also an iron and a hairdryer. The cleanliness is excellent, and everything you need is provided. You don’t have to buy anything. There is soap, shampoo, and even a small sewing kit (needle and thread). The kitchen is also equipped with an electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, and all the basic utensils (glasses, plates, pots). Towels are available, and you can always ask the host for more. There is also a small balcony. Honestly, the price is worth it and more. The host and everyone you meet there are very friendly and kind. You can ask her for anything you need. She even offered that I could invite my friend if I wanted, and her husband can help with the BBQ (you only need to buy the fish, and she provides all the oils, spices, and anything else you might need). Because I stayed for about a week, she gifted me a trip to visit the Blue Cave and the Green Cave and was very attentive to every detail. On the last day, upon departure, she offered me to stay one more day for free if I had no other commitments. Also, when you check out, you can leave your luggage at her place until your trip. And finally, before leaving, she gifted me lavender oil and a lavender pouch, something no one else has ever done. Honestly, this is the first time I have experienced such friendly treatment. I am grateful for every moment I spent there, and if I ever think about returning to Hvar, I will definitely book with her again. This is my first time booking through Booking.com, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Normally, I book through Airbnb or intermediary companies.

The only downside was that I booked a single room, and it was small, but honestly, it was sufficient. To be honest, when I first saw the room, I told her it was small, and she immediately offered me to cancel the booking; she had no problem with that and was very understanding. She also told me that if I wanted, after a day or two, a bigger room would be available, and I could switch to it without any extra charge. But in the end, I liked my room and stayed in it 😅. Honestly, there was nothing negative at all.

Best place to stay at Hvar.

The location of Barko Rooms is just perfect, close to the centre but also to the best beaches of Hvar. The rooms are super comfortable, with everything you need, balcony, kitchen, new bathrooms, everything is new, clean and you can notice the attention to details and that everything was created with love. Vinka and her family are the nicest family and they will help you with anything you need :) I had a such a good time with them! Willing to come back 💗

Fabulous spot: book it!

Fabulous all round! I stayed in the single room: it was small but did not feel at all cramped due to the exemplary design: loved the little balcony to sit out on, location excellent: easy walking to the old town/ port/ minimart: but in quiet neighbourhood. Super friendly and kindly hosts. Loved having some cooking facilities and fridge/kettle etc. Private. Everything you could want, and excellent value.

Beautiful rooms

I’m so happy I chose to stay here. The rooms are so beautifully decorated- I can tell a woman decorated and thought about the design with care(and even have a nice seating area if you need to do laptop work & good WiFi ). My room had a balcony and a view with monastery in the and sea. The host is so kind and welcoming; Vinka I also very responsive on WhatsApp and helped me with the ferries (it was windy so there were some cancellations). Will stay here again when I come back-it’s also a really short (but pretty walk from the port) and the city square. So happy!

Calida bienvenida en HVAR

La atencion de la familia que nos recibio fue muy calida y agradable, la limpieza y orden muy bien y para los que buscan cama de dos plazas (cuerpos) unificada el alojamiento cuenta con ello. Tenia todo lo necesario para cualquier viajero. La ubicacion tambien me parecio muy accesible. El lugar es muy seguro.

No encontre nada que pudiera criticarle al hospedaje para las necesidades que tuvimos. Inclusive la ubicacion estaba cerca para hacer todo caminando.

La amabilidad de la dueña, mi habitación era MUY pequeñita, la cama se guarda para poder circular, pero siendo honesta, uno no está mucho tiempo en el lugar, lo usas para bañarte y dormir, la mini cocina cumple y está equipada con lo básico, por lo que cumplió mis expectativas, todo se ve nuevo y limpio. Tiene aire acondicionado, para una persona está perfecto y muy fácil de acceder desde el muelle. Si llegás en ferry y tenés equipaje podés ir perfectamente caminando. Es una casa de familia, los deptos están en la planta superior y tienen su propio ingreso por el patio.

Nada! Volvería sin dudas.

Camera pulitissima e piena di tutti i servizi da angolo cottura a bagno con doccia, una piccola terrazza ed un letto comodo. Inoltre dista pochi minuti a piedi dal centro, ma si trova in una zona tranquilla, lontana dal caos.

Tout est compacté dans une seule petite pièce (+ la salle de bain ) avec un lit peu pratique (assise sur le lit, j'avais les pieds à 50 cm du sol) une mini cuisine (même pas une poêle) et très peu d'espace pour circuler (pas de chaise à l'intérieur sinon impossible de circuler) la terrasse est minuscule sans table (juste une mini tablette) Les bons commentaires ne sont pas pour la même chambre mais pour une chambre pour plusieurs personnes
