Detailed and warm - Home away from home!

We had an exceptional stay at this accommodation. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The setting is stunning—quiet, scenic, and incredibly relaxing. The accommodation was immaculate, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. The farm experience was a real highlight, especially spending time with the sheep and chickens, collecting eggs and enjoying the fresh air and natural surroundings. It’s the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort. The outdoor bath was a charm. The hosts clearly put a lot of care into the property, and it truly shows. We left feeling refreshed and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a peaceful countryside getaway.

Beautiful home away from home that you never want to leave

There’s so much to love. The serenity and peace that the location offered, the fire place giving nostalgic childhood vibes while watching movies, the outdoor bath under the stars, the farm animals and provided sheep and chicken food, the big spacious kitchen, the well equipped kitchen and full laundry amenities. It was perfect for what was a tough emotional week for us. We got to unwind, sit and reflect in a slice of paradise. Thank you

A lovely place to escape to in the country but still close to the city

This was like a home away from home , we felt relaxed as soon as we walked in the door . The house was very well stocked with thoughtful items like milk , sundries that sometimes you forget on holiday . Lovely surrounds , gardens and animals which made it a lovely country stay . I look forward to my next visit

We loved our stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Magnolia Cottage. The instructions to find the cottage were simple and accessing the property was super easy. The home was well equipped with everything you could possibly need... including some fresh eggs from the chooks out the back! The fire was just lovely with plenty of wood to keep it going. I have nothing negative to say about our stay and would completely recommend for a farm stay out of the city but still close to amenities.

Gorgeous property with peaceful views and atmosphere

The location was beautiful with the facilities to feed both the sheep and chickens on the farm. The entire house was also stocked with all of the kitchenware you could possibly need, and they went above and beyond with essentials and communication with any minor issues we faced. Gale and Brent also hand delivered fresh fruit from their trees during our stay and even offered to come in with fresh sheets and clean up mid way through our two week stay.

Magnolia Cottage felt like our own hobbit home.

Magnolia Cottage was a wonderful retreat on our NZ trip. We spent two nights here and loved the animals, the comfortable beds, and the full kitchen. The outdoor bath was heavenly. Our son collected eggs and fed the sheep and chickens. It was such a great, peaceful stay. We visited Hobbiton from here (a 50-minute drive), and Magnolia Cottage felt like our own Hobbit home.

The only thing that comes to mind is that there is not much around there to have dinner, so come prepared to cook.

The Magical Magnolia

The tranquility, peacefulness, and nature set in sights and reach of a farm (sheep and chooks) setting and scenery. The garden gave a rustic, free, natural tone - simply beautiful. The morning sun complemented the quiet start to our day. Spectacular! The Magnolia gave us the comforts and warmth of home. Our boys were very settled and enjoyed riding their scooters on arrival before we left to watch our team. We enjoyed the swings that landed feet in crunchy sounding leaves and feeding the friendly sheep and chickens. Magnolia had everything we needed. There was an outside 🛁 that we didn't have the time to use. Most definitely plan on staying a couple more nights next visit down to Turangawaewae Marae or supporting the Auckland Blues next game at FMG Stadium. It's definitely a retreat away from a busy Auckland life. We absolutely recommend the Magnolia B&B 🥰..

In reflection, it would have been nice to stay 2 nights or more. Our 1 night stay was too short! I didn't know how much we needed the rest and disconnect from our busy days ... until we arrived and settled into the Magnolia. The night stars shone full, plentiful and bright. Something we don't quite see too often.

The perfect farm stay

When we stepped into the house, we were floored by how big, clean and comfortable it is! It is like a home away from home. Brent and Gail are warm and gracious hosts. My kids really enjoyed interacting and feeding the chickens and sheeps in the farm. Every morning, we collected fresh eggs from the chicken coops for our breakfast. It is one of the best accommodation that I ever have and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a quiet getaway!

Herrliches Haus mit eigener Farm. Besondere Unterkunft

Super schöne Unterkunft der besonderen Art in Neuseeland auf der Nordinsel. Mit eigener anliegender Farm mit Schafen und Hühnern. Außen Badewanne mit Sicht auf die Landschaft. Ganz neu eingerichtet und eine tolle große Küche. Einrichtung super gepflegt und wie neu. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Vermieter. Unsere Tochter (5 Jahre) hatte den ganzen Tag Spaß mit den Tieren und konnte frei rumflitzen
