Incredible Waitakere View

Unfortunately, we would not recommend this property and wish we had looked more closely at previous reviews before booking. The first impression on arrival was poor. The rubbish bins at the driveway were overflowing and look to not of been emptied in a long time, leaving us with no way to dispose of our own waste. There was also a broken bed frame left on the front lawn, which appeared to have been there for quite some time. Inside, the overall cleanliness was concerning. The entire property, including the bathrooms, had a dusty, mouldy smell. There was also a leak under the bench that produced an unpleasant odour. Marks were visible on many of the walls, and there were even holes behind some of the doors — issues that, based on previous reviews, seem to have been ongoing for months. The kitchen was not adequately set up for guests who wish to cook. Although there was a dishwasher, no dishwasher tablets were provided, so we had to wash everything by hand. There were also no tea towels supplied, which meant we had to purchase our own during our stay. The bedding and towels were disappointing. The bed was made with only a fitted sheet and a duvet, and it was unclear whether the duvet had been cleaned between guests. The towels provided were old and stained, with no spare sets available. The listing also mentioned a bath; however, there is no bath in any of the bathrooms. Additionally, the property advertised a BBQ, which we had planned to use, but there was no BBQ available upon arrival. Given that we paid $860 for two nights, we found the property to be significantly overpriced for the standard, cleanliness, and amenities provided. Overall, the property seems suitable only as a very basic place to sleep, and even then, it falls well short of reasonable expectations.

Had to call 4 times to get the code for the lockbox. They were informed of our arrival time and had a contact phone number. We should have been rung or texted the code

Cobwebs, very dusty, not clean, thin towels, heaters that didn’t work. No top sheet on beds. Thin duvets. In bad need of refurbishment

Location was good and suited a group of guys. Showers were good too.

It could really do with a good spring clean. The outside was really no better, Ceilings badly fly spotted, spiders webs in every corner around kitchen area. Master bedroom has hole in gib where the door stop has been removed, and the door knob has punched through.

Loved the views and loved the space of the house all the room our family needed

My sister inlaw and neice woke up covered In ants in the bedroom and they were all over the walls we did take photos and the all-round cleaning of the house wasn't done very well with ubereats orders left on fridge rubbish in cupboards and draws. Also No knifes were provided which made eating at home hard with kids eg toast needed a knife for breakfast. mold over every window and door. The outside area was unsafe for kids to play as the decking isn't complete and side fence not attached. Otherwise the house was warm and in a good quiet location.

We rented this house for a family celebration and it was the perfect choice—spacious, comfortable, and ideally located. The free WiFi was a bonus, and we especially loved the stunning views over the Waitākere Ranges. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway or family gathering.

Our only challenge was the bed setup, as all rooms had double beds, which made it a bit tricky for the younger kids—some more flexible sleeping options would be great, but we made it work! 😊
