We chose The Lana, Dorchester Collection for our honeymoon, expecting an exceptional luxury experience. Instead, we left extremely disappointed and let down.
The hotel is beautiful and the location is incredible, but the service was completely unacceptable. We found hairs on the toilet seat, which is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a luxury property. Furthermore, we switched rooms and there was hair in the bath tub and on the stool.
We raised our concerns directly with the Director of Guest Experience, Artan, yet received no meaningful apology, genuine care or sense of accountability. I also followed up by email and have received no acknowledgment whatsoever.
Getting through to reception or Guest Services by phone was another frustration, it would take an excessive amount of time just to get someone to answer, which is simply not acceptable at a hotel of this standard.
To make matters worse, we were charged £1,000 for an upgrade we never agreed to. This is completely unacceptable, and I will be escalating this charge formally.
We were celebrating our honeymoon, yet there were no meaningful special touches or gestures. For a hotel of this calibre and price point, the lack of care, attention and basic service was astonishing.
Luxury is not a beautiful building and a high price tag. It is service, accountability and making guests feel valued. We experienced none of that.
