Varenna O Sole Mio

Het uitzicht is fenomenabel.Je zit hier echt 1e rang. De hele gouden driehoek. De bedden,badkamer en terras is geweldig.

Het is wat gehorig tav de bovenburen. Het schuiven van de stoelen over de plaveizen vloeren en vocaal.

The views are stunning. Overall the property is comfortable. The beds were adequate. The property was cleaned to a good standard. Comfortable outdoor furniture.

We were not made aware just how high up the mountain we were and we had to pay for taxis every day even to take us to the supermarket. No shop nearby at all. Not even a bottle of water in the fridge. Chipped/ old crockery including mugs, odd set of wine glasses, poor quality pillows. The safe was broken/ dis not work. There needs to be some storage down the side of the property under the cover to keep the cushions off the outdoor furniture dry- they were wet through when we arrived and took 2 days to dry.

Lovely and spacious apartment overlooking the lake. The kitchen was fully equipped so it was perfect for a 3 nights stay where we could have breakfast and dinner. The host noted that we should not use multiple appliances at once due to possible power outage, which was very helpful tips.

The curvy, tiny road to get to the apartment was somewhat a challenge especially when driving at night. But we somewhat got used to it after a few rides up and down.

The view is marvelous. The apartment is very spacious — we were five people, and there was plenty of room for everyone, as it can accommodate up to 6 guests. The rooms were very comfortable, and having two bathrooms with showers was very convenient and pleasant.

What I didn’t like was the location and transportation situation. We arrived late at night, and it was very hard to find a taxi in Varenna. The apartment is located up in the hills, so it’s not easily reachable on foot. During our stay, it was also difficult to book taxis every day just to get to downtown, even though the drive was only about 5 minutes. Because of this, I would recommend booking this apartment only if you have a car. In addition, during our stay, we suddenly had no hot water or gas. After contacting the staff, we discovered that someone had turned off the gas from outside the property. The staff initially told us it was okay to shower with cold water, but the water was actually freezing. Since there was also no gas, we couldn’t cook our food as we had planned that evening. Only after we repeatedly asked for someone to come and fix the issue did they finally send help. Otherwise, we would have had no way to cook or shower properly. Also, make sure to bring enough toilet paper, as the staff did not agree to provide additional supplies.
