The views and the outdoor terrance.

The steep walk back from Varenna town and we experienced multiple issues during our stay.

We booked the accommodation for the view and it was totally worth it. Stunning! And the apartment was nice, big and well equipped. All communication was good and self check in and check out easy.

Nothing. I would nevertheless recommend having a car while staying there or be ready for a steep walk.

The view is marvelous. The apartment is very spacious — we were five people, and there was plenty of room for everyone, as it can accommodate up to 6 guests. The rooms were very comfortable, and having two bathrooms with showers was very convenient and pleasant.

What I didn’t like was the location and transportation situation. We arrived late at night, and it was very hard to find a taxi in Varenna. The apartment is located up in the hills, so it’s not easily reachable on foot. During our stay, it was also difficult to book taxis every day just to get to downtown, even though the drive was only about 5 minutes. Because of this, I would recommend booking this apartment only if you have a car. In addition, during our stay, we suddenly had no hot water or gas. After contacting the staff, we discovered that someone had turned off the gas from outside the property. The staff initially told us it was okay to shower with cold water, but the water was actually freezing. Since there was also no gas, we couldn’t cook our food as we had planned that evening. Only after we repeatedly asked for someone to come and fix the issue did they finally send help. Otherwise, we would have had no way to cook or shower properly. Also, make sure to bring enough toilet paper, as the staff did not agree to provide additional supplies.
