Very comfy bed. So warm and cosy (it was a cold night but the heating was on. So nice!)
Staff exceptional. Looked after me as I arrived late without food! They made sure i was catered for.
Shower pressure was a little low but it was hot! Which was good.

The help we were given by reception staff when first arrived was excellent the room was large and comfortable both the room and bathroom were very clean towelling was clean and soft . This room has a very large bed which we found comfortable. The supply of tea coffee and drinking chocolate was supplemented with packets of biscuits
The only thing I missed was a large comfortable chair but there was two small chairs provided

Location
Wasn’t enough beds in our room, booking wasn’t on system, no breakfast
4.0 / 10.0
The restaurant was closed so no evening meal or breakfast. I had to use McDonalds.
It would have been better had they provided an opportunity to have meals without getting in the car and looking. No restaurant so they could have informed when I booked. Apparently the Chef was off, as was the menu.
The ceiling had a big crack with plaster handing and a large stain
The bath was falling apart.
The bathroom had paper hanging off the wall and it was in real need for decorating.
Basically nothing like the photos on the site.
Considering I had stayed in the Premier Inn at South Normanton the night before for the same price I will stay with them in future.
Plus side.
Friendly staff.
Good parking.
Super clean and comfy bed.
Proximity to McDonalds. Just up the road so handy. Worked for an evening meal and breakfast.

The staff were lovely I was ill on the Sunday and the staff were excellent, the food was great we’ll definitely be staying again

Room was a reasonable size, as was the ensuite.
Website said breakfast was from 7.30am on Saturday. Bar staff said it was 9am, which was too late for us. Power cut in morning rendered shower inoperable and water didn't flow out of sink as required power to run the macerator. No evening food available. Halloween party noise continued until 2.30am.

Location was great for us,
the pub is very tidy. but when you move into the area for accommodation the exact opposite. Not clean, evrything needs a total facelift. Room could have been good but ensuite was not clean. Sower door opens virtually a foot from front of toilet. bed had no mattress protectors as did pillows. Had to keep asking for heating to be put on. Staff were very attentive but were not responsible for state of accommodation. Stayed about 18 months ago, was a bit tired then but stayed in room 5 this time and as stated earlier not good.

Location as it was close to the party we were going to.
The single bed room didn’t even have its own bathroom. It was shared ( not a Jack and Jill bathroom), but along the main corridor.

Staff were extremely friendly. Quickly checked in and shown where our room was and where to go if pub was closed. Room was very spacious with plenty of storage.
Provided with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk and a kettle. Adorable little shampoo and conditioners plus wee biscuits on the bed. Soft towels for both of us.
Food was absolutely delicious, cooked to order so hot and cooked amazingly.
There was a pub quiz on so a little noisy but there were signs up so we knew ahead of time and it wasn't on too late.
Bathroom was clean and well kept
Think the only thing I can think of was the bed was a little uncomfortable but that's more of a preference because I like a firm matress

Location was the man reason for choosing the hotel
The bed, my husband is 6 ft 2 and the bed frame was too short for him.. mattress too soft.
Always boxes and deliveries on the stairs… Health & Safety hazzard.
Evening Food was very poor.

Location for what we required was fine, however situated on a main road so extremely noisy.
Based on a main road, very noisy. Very noisy at night, drunk men outside shouting “John” persistently to open the pub doors at 3am, until they were eventually let back in and continued noise downstairs in the pub until early hours. Communal bathroom, no hand soap. Someone tried to open our room door at 5am which scared our children.

The hotel was in a good location for events at Sandal Park
When we arrived the hotel windows were all smashed so someone had obviously taken umbrage with the place. There were 2 staff behind the bar and we explained we had a room reservation. They turned us away saying there was no reservation in our name and that Booking.com must have made a mistake. I explained that we had paid in full , and that I had even contacted the hotel directly about our stay and received a response. They said it must be a mistake by Booking.com and to take it up with them. We were slightly relieved as the place was so run down, and only a few of the smashed windows had been boarded. We contacted Booking.com to be told that the hotel were saying we stayed as was planned - it took almost 3 months to prove our case and get a refund. This is apparently a scam they run all the time, as the nearby hotel we (thankfully) managed to book on the day said The Wheatley were repeat offenders and people were always going to this other hotel trying to get a room last minute

Staff was lovely and very helpful, it is an okay hotel to stay in if you are staying for one night, however we paid £80 for the night and it wasn’t worth it
When we entered the room we noticed several problems such as, toilet seat not on properly, holes in the walls, stains on the carpet, wardrobe hanging off its hinges, no hot water or pressure in any of our taps and shower head, and our cutlery and kettle were dirty, because it is also a pub it was difficult to go to sleep as we had people outside shouting until early hours in the morning

Nothing
Arrived at the venue, and was told that they were not accepting guest that night as they had changed owner that morning. There was no apology. There had been no attempt to warn me in advance, and I was offered no assistance. The premises are misnamed, they are not a hotel, they are a tacky pub, noisy and very down market.

Staff lovely couldn’t do enough for you. Very helpful with taxis and any requests you had. We had stayed as we’re travelling to a wedding and it was great for us location wise.
Bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy all we needed to stop overnight.
Was a touch run down could do with a revamp but I wouldn’t complain it serviced exactly what we needed it too.

Nothing
Turned up for our reservation that had been made 6 weeks before only to arrive and be told that there was new management, they’d closed all the rooms and we’d have to figure out ourselves where we were going to stay for the next two days. The poor girl working there had no help from anyone in dealing with guests showing up with nowhere for them to stay.

location was perfect for where i needed to be
the rooms are about the Pub itself so early nights are impossible, asked about the free Wi-Fi and told there isn't any although there was a board saying free WIFI, asked about breakfast was told only at weekends although a board outside said all day breakfast all week, the restaurant looked as though it hadn't been open for ages i ended up eating down the road, the single room was 8ft by 10ft, the bed felt it had come from a Caravan (thin and Hard), if the location was where i needed to be then i would have booked a room from the larger chain

We wouldn't know.
We booked this place for my partners birthday and as we got into Doncaster they cancelled on us last minute leaving us stranded and getting our money back was a nightmare
Spoke to a women from this place who sounded like she just didn't care that we were stranded i would recommend u all avoid

Location was close to where we needed to be
Room was less than basic.
Beds extremely uncomfortable
Carpets heavily stained.
Bathroom basic. Sink blocked. No mirror in bathroom. No plugs. Shower rail rusty and very poor quality.
Dirty, lipstick stained cups and glasses.
Curtain didn't fit the window.
Terrible smell of cooking oil.
Kitchen looked disgraceful, bin bags over the floor. There was no way we would have eaten there.
Main bar- notices on doors, all children must leave by 8.30pm. Children in the bar at 11pm on Friday evening.
Many beers ran out over the weekend.

It was clean and comfortable
Not doing food in the evening was disappointing and because we were told that we weren’t told that there was breakfast so missed out
3.0 / 10.0
comfortable bed, clean bedding and nice clean towels provided.
The area felt a little rough, many of the Hotel windows (over 10) had be smashed/broken and/or boarded up due to vandalism it seems.
Tea and coffee provided but no spoon to stir the cup! and bathroom could have been a little cleaner.

It’s not as close to the station as it advertised. The bar and indeed the whole place closes at 9.30. There are no staff and so when I checked out I could not return the key which they have charged me 20 pounds for. I also booked a room which they cancelled 4 hours before I arrived, so I booked it again - they could not give me a reason for the cancellation. Whilst it was cheap … it was simply awful
Everything! It was terrible across the board

the location
in the morning couldn't check out as noone there and you have to leave a £20. key deposit. I need to leave at 7.15 for the hospital, as know there had to call to say I had the key. then had to drive passed to drop of key still no-one there. told to come back when pub opened at 3. husband had had major surgery and was in the car wanting to go home. had to call and they then transfer the money into account.

Location close to hospital, good size room & beds.
Room was cold damp & mouldy. We all woke up coughing. when washing your hands in the bathroom the sink filled and took around an hour to drain. They were unaware that we had booked so when we got there we were told all the rooms had been booked out, when we showed our confirmation from booking.com they gave us a room key and said booking.com hadn't sent over confirmation. All in all not a great experience.

All the windows were smashed, at the side and front. When I arrived I was told they couldn’t get me in as they were double booked and they couldn’t help me and I should leave and speak to booking.com
Whatever had happened there had really done a number on the property. This looked like targeted vandalism. On top of that I wasn’t allowed to stay as they said they were double booked. I’m trying to get a refund. Someone could have called to warn me

Stay here a lot staff always great you get what you get rooms are nice convenient and comfortable will be back again again when in the area
It’s an old hotel but barely unlikeable

Staff were lovely
Operationally the hotel is unable to change a lightbulb (there were a lot of blown bulbs) or unblock a sink. Our room smelt of sewers and lacked shelving in the bathroom. Also the staff had been instructed to play happy hardcore in the bar underneath our rooms all day long at blistering volumes whether there was anyone there or not. When there were people there they were mostly snorting coke in the toilets. Over our stay I began to worry if there was anyone staying with the guests overnight (i'm guessing not based on what happened the last night) and even if the fire alarm was functioning. On our last night someone smahsed all the ground floor windows with a baseball bat which obviously woke me up and of course there were no staff to do anything. If you're looking for a nice place to stay this isn't it

The beds were broken, the bathroom disgusting. I hurt myself on the broken towel holder in the bathroom. No food available. Pubic hairs on the toilet seat and holes in the walls.
