Riad Petite Rêverie

I cannot express how beautiful our stay was here, it truly exceeded all expectations. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the medina but on a quiet street. The house is huge - the photos don't do it justice, and the beautiful decor particularly the large natural sky light are grand and tasteful. The rooms are all beautifully styled and equipped and there is even a separate large apartment on the roof terrace. But the real highlight was Meryam, who came in to cook a delicious breakfast every day, bringing home made treats, gluten-free breads, and stayed to make up our beds every morning. She made our trip so special, including balloons and a cake for my friend's 30th birthday. Meryam and the riad owner/host are super responsive and made everything easy. If you are looking for a memorable place to stay in Essaouira, this is it.

The Riad is finished tastefully, has all the amenities you’d expect, is very comfortable and traditional

The location is perfect, situated in a quite alley, so not in the Centre of the main streets of the Medina and away from all the confusion. It also has a lovely roof terrace

We absolutely loved this beautifully restored and thoughtfully furnished house. It has a lot of attention to detail, craftsmanship and design. It is spread over three floors and has two wonderful rooftop terraces, where we enjoyed our morning coffee and spent relaxing afternoons in the shade. But the best part was definitely our host, Maryam. She impressed us not only with her incredible friendliness and attentiveness, but also with the delicious tajine she prepared for us - without a doubt the best we had during our entire trip through Morocco! L’emplacement : C'est le gros point fort de ce riad. Il est idéalement situé dans une rue relativement calme, ce qui permet de visiter la ville très facilement à pied. La literie & l'accueil : Les chambres restent correctes et on y dort bien. De plus, l'accueil par Meriem était plutôt agréable et pas mal.

L'ambiance générale et la luminosité : La première impression est assez spéciale. Le riad est globalement sombre, en particulier la pièce du bas (qui fait office de cuisine/salle à manger), que j'ai trouvée sombre et assez vétuste. Le manque cruel de propreté et d'entretien : C'est le gros point noir de notre séjour. Les parties communes sont très poussiéreuses. Le même constat s'applique à la terrasse supérieure, qui manque cruellement d'entretien et de nettoyage. Présence de nuisibles : Plus grave encore, nous avons eu des cafards dans la salle de bain et, pire, des fourmis directement dans notre lit. Au vu de la pluie d'avis positifs sur internet, je repars relativement déçu de ce riad. Si l'emplacement et l'accueil sont au rendez-vous, le manque de propreté et la présence d'insectes gâchent l'expérience.
