I would stay at YAM again.
I liked that it was walking distance to town but quiet. I liked our outdoor kitchen and our room. I liked the coffee. maker with pods and the full sized fridge. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well due to it being in the hills, not downtown.
It was a bit pricey but worth it for a good night's sleep.

Amazing property close to everything yet far enough away to have quiet space too. The rooms are spacious and clean and small kitchen area very handy.

An ok hotel
The design of the hotel is very nice, the location is quite central for Mazunte restaurants etc
The room service/ cleaning was strange: some days the bin in the toilet wasn't emptied, and none of the towels were changed, but the bed was made up. Other days, the bed wasn't made, but the bin was emptied. The shower had very little warm water, and kept flooding the floor. There is a lot of noise at night coming from the party venues/bars across the road. We had booked two rooms; the second room's toilet door was almost impossible to close or open, and it wasn;t fixed during our stay.

Beautiful boutique hotel with extremely comfy beds
Really enjoyed our stay at YAM hotel, the location is ideal right in the heart of Mazunte. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was beautiful!
The trees surrounding the pool could be trimmed back a bit to let some more light in, the pool was in the shade for most of the day.

Really great location. Well appointed kitchen. Lovely staff who cleaned and made bed every day. Nice little plunge pool to cool down in evening. Nice communal outdoor area. Quiet. Big comfortable beds.
Minor thing but the light in our pool was broken. It's a bit odd to have the main communal pool right outside one of the private villas but it was fine, we used it when neighbours were out.
Some more hooks to hang towels would have been useful.

Great location and cool design, nice pool.
It was pretty unclean and the lack of proper sealing of all the windows and doors meant you essentially slept outside, so expect cockroaches and scorpions in your room. This felt like an avoidable problem. Communication was also really slow and all over WhatsApp given the reception was unmanned for our entire stay. I wouldn’t stay here again.

It is such a beautiful place, very spacious, well designed- it is everything & more. Such a great value for money. The staff was very helpful and friendly but very discreet at the same time. The location is also amazing - close to everything you might need.
I know some people complained about the water pressure but there is 1 super efficient trick you can use- when you turn on the shower, you must also turn on the sink faucet- just a few seconds is enough, and the pressure will normalize.

Good location, our room feel private and set back enough for the main road to be quiet.
Shower wasn’t great (very low pressure) and the lock on the apartment door was difficult to use and didn’t feel very secure.

Cosy, fantastic place and relaxed
The staff of the hotel were fantastic! they were very friendly and answered everything when needed even if they were not in the place! They answered our reservation very fast at last minute at night and the check in process was great at midnight. They made us feel safe in our last minute situation and the attention was great!

Pleasant stay
Nice minimalist design of bedroom and furniture. Lovely terrace. Great location close to beach and in the centre of town - can walk everywhere. We didn’t encounter the staff that much during our stay, but the ones we met were friendly enough.
Bathroom could’ve felt a bit cleaner, esp around the shower floor area. Design of bathroom means everything gets wet from the shower; the basin is very small and not much room to put your toiletries on surfaces. Hot water and water pressure/power is not consistent (but this is Mazunte, so we didn’t have high expectations)! Not a huge amount of amenities available; only a very small plunge pool which looked a bit stagnant. Note: lots of stairs to climb up if you have heavy luggage.

Gorgeous, luxurious stay in Mazunte.
Beautiful furnishings inside and out- the pool was private and ideal for the hot coastal weather. Perfectly clean, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Air con was great, staff very helpful over message. Very short walk to the beach and main roads. Their recommended restaurants/ bakeries/ attractions were spot on.
There’s music from a bar across the road on weekend nights, but not a problem if you sleep with earplugs (we always travel with them, but yam also provided them if you needed)

A peaceful, beautiful, minimal hotel.
It’s a beautiful hotel in a great location. The rooms are large and minimally decorated (in a nice way) and very comfortable. The air con in the bedroom was great but it’s worth noting that the kitchen is outdoors and the bathroom has bug screens rather than windows so will be warm - this wasn’t a problem for us! The staff are really helpful and friendly and drinking water is provided. It was mostly really peaceful and we felt very surrounded by nature, with lots of trees and birds and hammocks to sit in and enjoy all of that.
Some parts of the hotel feel a bit unfinished - a couple of light fittings were missing in the bathroom and the land to the side of the hotel is a bit of a dumping ground over a low wall, which was a bit of a clash with the peaceful and perfectly detailed room and rest of the grounds. Still, we really loved our stay and would recommend it!

Style over Amenities
The rooms were super clean and the staff came in everyday to clean which is always nice. The plunge pools got a lot of use for our group. The rooms were minimalist and had a nice style.
I know others mentioned the water pressure in the showers and I overlooked that thinking those people were being picky but now that I have experienced it, please be aware, THE WATER PRESSURE was awful and at one point, a trickle was coming out of the shower. Also, the water temperature was very temperamental. We had a sewage smell in our room but, luckily there was another room open (the large apartment) which we moved to. Unfortunately, due to the height of the ceiling in this room and gaps to outside, our A/C unit never went below 26 degrees (78 F) even when we had it set for 16, so night sleeping in a hot room was a little uncomfortable. We do not mind having windows open for fresh air instead of A/C but that would have made the noise coming from outside even worse than it was. Next point: The cacophony of sounds coming in throughout the night was horrible. There were so many dogs barking all night that 2 of the 4 nights, I got no sleep at all. In addition to the dogs, were roosters and street noise. On Friday night there was EDM music playing from town until midnight and it sounded like it just outside our door. We were already settled in when our host told us of the earplugs available. The lighting in the room is awful as well. I could not read at night in bed because the lighting was so dim. I realize this is a vibe of the room but it just did not work for me. The room also did not have much place to store away clothes. It was better in the large apartment but absolutely no place to put away your things in our first room (far left unit with an outdoor kitchen). Lastly, the walk up to the hotel was not lit and when we first arrived at the end of the street, we had no idea where the hotel was. There is no sign directing you. Now, on the plus side, my kids rooms (one over one on the far right) were nicer than our first room so if you are going to stay at Yam, I would choose one of those. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Yam.

There was no parking and you did have to climb stairs/hill to reach the accomodation so would not recommend for those with access requirements.

Fabulous luxury centrally located in Mazunte
In four weeks in Mexico this is the best place we stayed. The hotel is completely new and the design of the rooms were excellent toned down luxury. The bed was great with comfortable pillows and duvet, and the temperature good with both new fan and aircon. The location is very central, placed a few blocks from the main road so that it was quiet and relaxing. The view is also great. Run by a lovely couple who were super friendly, helpful and fluent in English. Cannot recommend this place enough, would have loved to stay longer!

Se nota que el hotel es muy nuevo. La habitación era amplia y luminosa. Buena ubicación cerca de la playa y restaurantes. Personal muy amable. Dan pareos para la playa.
Podrían avisar de que la entrada está en lo alto de una colina y que hay que subir varias escaleras con las maletas, no obstante el personal nos ayudó a subir las maletas y fueron muy amables. La ducha no tiene separación con el resto del baño por lo que se moja y medio inunda cuando te das una ducha.

Son particularmente atentos, amables, y se preocupan porque no te falte nada, te dan recomendaciones, te ayudan con tu equipaje, tiene una ubicación que es privilegiada a pesar de no estar a pie de playa. Todo queda súper cerca

El hotel es precioso, con pocas habitaciones y separadas por vegetación, se encuentra en un lugar tranquilo. La habitación es cómoda y muy bien decorada, y las vistas a través del ventanal o de la terraza son muy bonitas. Es un lugar tranquilo e íntimo.
El baño era estrecho y un poco pequeño. Nos sorprendió el tamaño del fregadero, muy pequeño! La ducha era abierta y el desagüe no tragaba el agua bien, por lo que era muy facil inundar el resto del baño con facilidad.

Seleccionamos la habitación con alberca y nos encantó la privacidad, tenía todo lo indispensable para utilizar en la cocina, la cama estuvo muy cómoda. Cerca de todo para cenar y salir a pasear. La playa quedaba a 10 mins caminando y punta cometa a 20.
Cuando llegamos no había una persona en la recepción, esperamos unos 20 mins y mejor decidimos ir a comer... Posteriormente se pusieron en contacto con nosotros.
