The Lookout

We were looking for somewhere peaceful to relax for a few days with our two little dogs, and we weren't disappointed. We arrived in the middle of a heatwave, and the outside decking area was the perfect space to sit and enjoy the weather whilst taking in the rolling countryside views. The large fan inside definitely came in handy. The lookout is a very comfortable, clean, modern space, and is equipped with everything needed, from quality bedding on a comfy bed, to a powerful shower and kitchen cupboards full of all the equipment required to cook a good meal. The dogs also loved their bed and toys. Set at the top of a hill, just a short, steep walk down to the lovely village with several pubs and a general store that has all the basics needed, aswell as some extra little treats. The Swan does an amazing breakfast. The lookout was set perfect for visiting Glastonbury, Chedder Gorge, Wells and Brean Beach. The hosts are next door if needed, but we were given our privacy which was appreciated. All in all a fantastic stay.

If you're a light sleeper, take an eyemask, as we were awoken by the blazing sun streaming through the bedroom blinds each morning at 4. 45am, but we made the most of this and took advantage of the early start.

There was nothing as such that we didn't like just felt the outdoor space could have been swept and dead plants and weeds removed from pots (but that's just me as I'm a keen gardener) We messaged the host an hour before we arrived as we had not had the code for the door sent through so arrived to find we couldn't get in I tried calling but no answer Luckily the cleaner had left the French doors unlocked (by mistake) as we saw the cleaning schedule for her to follow and it said shut windows and lock doors The owner did apologise saying he thought he had sent it but that was 4 hours after we had arrived ( on the hottest day of the year ) I also had asked him where we would find the parasol for the furniture but that also took a while for a response I asked about 3pm on the day we arrived and got a response at 1pm the following day The owner was working away so got a friend to drop the parasol round arrived 3pm that day followed by a fan a couple of hours later (which was really appreciated) Like I said the property itself was lovely it was just the slow communication that let it down for me

Lovely views. Comfy bed and sofa. Well equipped. Safe for dogs. Fab toiletries ( I have ordered some).
