Red Rose Cottage

The cottage location was a stone throw from Cheddar Village. The property was beautifully cool which was a delight during another British heatwave. The rooms were well proportioned. The kitchen had an oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. The sofas in the living room were comfortable and relaxing and appeared brand new. The blinds were really useful and again helpful to reduce the heat. The bathroom was upstairs with a good space and operational shower unit. I would recommend staying here and would return as it was a delight!

The cottage may need a few minor changes e.g. the pans, frying pans used by previous occupants needed to be replaced/checked up upon as they had signs of lengthy usage and had to wash some before use. The brambles that hung over the car parking space were overgrown and I asked a neighbour, who was very kind, to borrow her secateurs to avoid having them attack me when I opened the car. The chairs in the dining room/kitchen may need some attention too as the backs moved when they were sat on.

The only thing missing for us was a garden, oh, and it needs a few more teaspoons.

Prime location and very clean. It was like being home from home

A quiet location within walking distance of Cheddar Gorge. Not much passing traffic

This is a single aspect property with no outside facilities. Their website suggest that you could sit outside by the roadside but there was a smell from the adjacent rubbish bins. The 'off road' parking is only suitable for small cars
