The Dairy Flat

Host was very helpful. We arrived during a heat wave and the flat was very hot. However the host was very understanding and kind and provided us with a large fan which made things more comfortable.. the location was perfect flr our visit.

Firstly, I would like to say that the property hosts/owners are fantastic - so friendly, personable and helpful. Everything ran smoothly for check-in and we were provided with visual images of where to park etc. The flat is located in the village - within a 10 minute walk of Cheddar Gorge. The closest pub is a ~3 minute walk away. Amenities beyond the standard are provided - it feels like everything has been thought of and feels as though you are staying at a family member's house. There was even local bread, butter and milk provided. The surroundings of the property are beautiful and the property is very clean. Absolutely perfect for visiting Cheddar and excellent value for the location.

The only reason I couldn't score a 10/10 is that we slept badly. The bed was small for 2 of us (not helped by the fact that my Husband is particularly tall) but it was also very hard. We both woke with painful backs in the morning and found it very hard to get comfortable. I don't like to leave a negative comment, as we genuinely enjoyed our time here, but had to be honest about our quality of sleep. Perhaps a softer mattress topper would help, but I realise it is hard to cater for everyone's preferences...

The dairy flat is perfect for a family of 4, with great space to relax and Mel's amazing deli downstairs. An easy stroll to the riverside pub and gorge shops makes it even better.
